Some thoughts on Mik 2018

Just some numbers:

2016:

18 starters

15 finishers

2017:

19 starters

15 finishers

2018:

18 starters

15 finishers

I did not check to see if it was the same 15 finishers each year or how many votes were cast but I think participation / interest has been pretty good these last three years based on those numbers.

I also did not make a list of participants but there is a strong core who enter every year.

I like it just the way it is now!.

And YES I WAS BUTT HURT I DIDNT WIN!!! I pouted got mad and threw my portal through a portal and vowed to never enter one of these again!!!Who would not want a collectible Rooster figurine, in very rare Green Jeans attire, I heared he prefers blue jeans for their attitude. I would have settled for a Devon figure that could not decide what to do next, but offer suggestions to fix the same problem he is Devoning over. But NOOOO, we award the prize to, well the best of all the builds. Please read the above coments with a huge amount of sarcasm in your head I am clearly trying to be funny … I said trying!

Dave, from the things I have picked up about Mik and the Challenge, I think that picking Eric as the spirit of Mik award was the absolute right choice, all the winners were that best ones, and all were well deserving of the votes.

Now to be a bit serious, keep things as they are, I was really mad at myself I didnt get into the Challenge with the Taylor Tin 2016, and was thrilled to actually build something that can actually look like a building as the absolute first time I ever did a scratch build. which carried over to this years build as I have never tried doing the work to build my portal.

I hope that more builds are done the way with the stone and the tin, give everyone the same starting point and watch their imaginations take over.

I have no problem with paying for whatever the starting piece( tin , stones, etc) and look forward to what ever comes from your mind and shop! Thanks Dave for putting this on, I have made friends here and like others enjoy watching the builds, getting ideas and laughing and joking with the others.

No rooster don’t do that ibwoild really be confused. I really want to be in A, blew my oppertunity when inwas B, I always feel like C, and every year I qualify for D

Thanks Pete your post wins the award for the most timely needed laugh award. I already have an image of a trucker driving down the road in Viking horns with a portal flying out the window and a fat bottom lip
