Large Scale Central

So, you think curved bridges and trestles are not prototypical?

I was there, just this morning. The parking lot that you see just above the right fork is the parking lot for the trail head of the Fish Lake Trail, one of the Rails to Trails, this time built (I think) on an abandoned UP branch. It is 7.5 miles of paved heaven, with BNSF and UP shared lines on either side.

When the trains come from behind, it sounds like they are directly behind, on my bicycle path. Scared the p!ss out of me, the first time.

At the end of the trail is a section of abandoned SP&S that goes for another 3.5 miles of rough gravel, connecting to the Columbia Plateau State Park Trail, which is a linear state park built on the abandoned SP&S. It goes all the way to Pasco (eventually) from Spokane. They have about 45 miles of it built.

No, I didn’t get any pics, cause I ran out of the house with the camera sitting on the table.

It didn’t happen without pics!

I’m tellin’ ya it did! My butt is still sore!
