Smoky Mtn. Travelogue on the Little River Rail Road

Loved it Doc. I remember hiking to the top of Clingman Dome last year and thinking if I could look far enough I would be at the same level as my house…

Hi Jake,

What is amazing to me is that the Little River RR almost made it to the top of Clingmans Dome in its ever reaching quest for more timber.

Some of my earliest memories are finding rail road track deep in the Smokies on hikes and wondering how in the world these pieces of steel made it in to the deep wilderness.

Agree ,our Tennessee Mountains are not as high the younger mountain ranges in The Rockies…but still rather impressive in there own way.

Thanks for looking.

Tom

Tom, that was absolutely wonderful! I loved the stop-action animation and live shots interspersed. Beautiful, beautiful editing – and a great little railroad! That motorcar is SWEET.

Hi Catherine,

Glad you liked the little movie. My Little River RR is just a tad south of the ETWNC you are modeling. Lot of GREAT RR’s with a bunch of character and “characters” in Tennessee.

The little picture that is my avatar here is the actual Motor Car #1 that I based the model on.
