Signals on the NVRY

Bob,

sounds like we will be under signal rules for trainopps?

Al P.

Great! And what about the poor folks who are colour blind, or extremely myopic?

They become instructors.

Ah, those who can, do. Those who can’t, teach. And those who cant teach, teach gym.

I gotcha.

When I was an instructor, we had folks come in and “teach” us how to become better instructors. So, our version was: “those who can, do; those who can’t, teach; and those who cant teach, teach the teachers.”

Not this year, but ‘eventually’. There’s still lots to do, but this year I’ll be collecting some data behind the scenes to get a feel for how the system will work. Last year we had some signals at Burke, and I discovered a couple of oddities.

Odditiy? So that’s what I am now??? Sheesh.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

Bob, maybe you need to brush up on your boolean algebra.

Been working on some more signaling prototypes. This one a 3d-printed Norfork and Western-ish position light signal. Two-piece signal head, that will mount on a 3/8" post.

And from the back.

Can you view them outside OK?

Cool. They will probably be fine in the daylight.I have bare color LEDs sticking out of my battery/sound car for direction indication, and I can see them fine in daylight. With the built in shades, it should be good in all but low-angle direct sunlight.

Yea, they should be fine in everything but direct, flat sunlight. I had the dwarf signal experiment outside for a couple of years, and I could always see them.

The question I have depends on age and whom will ignore them anyway ?

Just don’t team up Radder and Brunt or else invest in some cinder blocks !

My dwarf signals show up best in flat direct sunlight, but they keep telling me that they would rather be back down in a mine!

At least I didn’t hire Grumpy, David Meashey

Next up is my take on the GRS tri-light dwarf signal. These should work nicely in the yards, sidings, and wherever else space is limited.

Next up for signals, is the dwarf CPL

Still needs a bit of tweaking on the back side, and a base to mount it on, but getting there.

And the back covers.

Next up the base and wiring socket.
