Set your clocks back

Every day I come to the forums, and see this thread; “Set your clocks back”.

Guess what; my clocks have been set back faithfully every day since October 28th…soon, I’ll be running on some other time zone’s time…just wish I knew where.
I figure it will be “Mars” time in about a week…

Not much in "Blunder Bay, or “Winterpeg” either…

I might just move to “Blunder Bay”…I like the name. Can’t you just picture my by-line on future posts: “Fr.Fred, just blundering along near Blunder Bay”

While Blunder Bay, at the head of the Great Lakes is a bit cold at times. It isn’t as cold as “Winterpeg”. Now there is a non-civilized place to squat. Portage and Main is an intersection in Winterpeg; famous for being windy and cold.

It could be interesting, living at the head of the Great Lakes. Each morning during the few weeks that “Superior” is not in a solid state; I could install “Z” scale box cars in bottles and set them adrift. Some might drift the waters and drain down to the St Lawrence, to find their way to many lands across the seas.

Some might even get trapped in the drains of Chicago, to be redirected towards the Gulf of Mexico, along with whatever sewage they get trapped in along the way. Others might find refuge in the harbour at Oswego NY, or Alexandria Bay…to say nothing of Cornwall’s old dock by the unused grain elevator.
If they don’t get to Cornwall or then Montreal, they could have been trapped near Toronto, or Picton, and of course Kingston’s Harbour.
With great luck; one or three might float out and get caught in the Gulf Stream and end up near the Islands off the coast of France…There Mikey, or Deryck, while puddling around on a rocky beach in their 1920’s style wet suits, could find them and hope that the contents are more like Highland Park, Single Malt, than a hunk of plastic shaped like a funny looking freight wagon.

Oh what a dream…
…I wonder what tonights dream will be…!!!

Wow! Its already started and its only the first of November. We may need a couple of extra train shows this winter.

One of the reasons I’m glad I have some of my RR indoors. With the alignment change I no longer have a continuous run indoors, but I can do some switching and have a long desired fiddle yard with storage shelves. Can keep me busy for 3-4 hours.

I’m seriously considering building a makeshift snow shed over the first 30 feet or so of the outdoor track. This would give me a yard lead that is big enough to get more than 2 cars moving at a time… The new alignment only has about 6 feet of clear track indoors outside the yard switches.

Just so’s you’ll recognise us , Deryck is the tall one with the striped bathing suit , I am the short fat one with striped birthday suit . So send them bottles a rollin’ , Fred .

And a nut tree or four.

We lived in DC in the late 1940s, but I was too young to remember much of it.
