I want to be able to spend my days off with the wife and kids and the RR.

I can relate…
When my work days were shorter, I could get things done during the week.
Now, I can’t get anything done and it eats up my days off :frowning:
Good luck!

I guess the great thing is you can use what you’ve learned to build better. I wish you moved in next to me so we could share trackage rights!! Good luck. I hope all goes well.

Have fun in your new adventure!

Thanks guys

I miss working 8 hours days for the same reason. You can get things done. Now with 10 hour days and summers working doubles at times (8Am to midnight) I spend my days off cutting the grass etc…

Hey Shawn take a look at the “West Coast Update” and see what “Hand Laying Track” is like. After reading your post I wanted to make sure you see these pictures. Good luck with your sell.

Chuck

When building the new layout, run some 120 V electrical wiring to the inside of the loop (if that’s what you’re doing). It’ll be easier to install pond pumps and lighting. Don’t ask me how I know this.

Hate to see you leave that layout behind but I understand. Got a new track plan drawn yet?

Chuck that’s what I plan on doing although much smaller layout. I like the look of the wooden ties especially having some not so straight.

Doug no track plan yet. It will all depend on the yard and the area I’m working with. The plan is to have it partially or fully elevated but still have the garden.
