Large Scale Central

SD40-2w Build

Thanks David.

Thanks John.

I got about 18" of snow over two weeks, but we have had fantastic weather lately and it’s melted down to about 2".

I did a quick test run with the electronics, but it’s not very exciting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IfTvECptNQ

The truck issue was a pain, but at least it was fixable. I picked up an SD45 fuel tank from a Vegas hobby shop. I found out he had a small stash, so I was able to acquire 10 more for future builds. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif)

I’m working on the LED lighting today. I need to get this wrapped up so I can get to work on a pair of SD75I’s.

Shane

Fantastic work as always Shane …(Only a reminder) Don’t forget the grabs on the top of the plow above the MU access.

Just saying

Thanks Rooster. The plows have caused me some issues in that regard. They are semi-rigid, and the slightest bump and the grab irons pop off. I need to see if I can find some real flexible material to make them out of. Brass is a big fail. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif)

Spent the day wiring. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif)Then I spent two hours trying to find the screws for the long hood. I’ll try again in the morning with fresh eyes.

Ditch lights aren’t painted yet, so they are glowing.

Another Winner! Did you find your (loose) screws?

You’re just an engine producing machine … Sweet

Chris, I don’t know if I found “my” loose screws, but I found some for the locomotive. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)Thanks to your photo, I was able to find some in my junk bin that looked right and worked. I’m not sure if they are the originals.

Sean, and now the SD75I’s have moved to the top of the list. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif)I guess I may have to start a thread for them eventually.

That turned out great!

Thanks Ray.
