Scientific Toys loco bash

Well, if you botch it, it can end up sitting behind the engine house. A spare parts source, or a future rebuild project for the shop crews. But, I don’t think you are going to botch this.

If its really FUBAR, you can give it a coat of rust and place it at the bottom of your trestle as the wreck of Ol’ No. 99.

I like where this is going!! I had one like this, and planned to do just this, but wound up parting it out for another project. I did think of getting another one and trying again. No G scale trains in Honduras (yet lol) but they do have these, might pass along the time while here  I will be anxiously watching the progress

Pat,

Hows this coming along, any progress?

Thanks for asking Devon, but not much progress lately.
I have been making slow but steady progress with track laying and landscaping, though.
Work has been keeping me busy and out of town, so even that has been sporadic.

I did mess around a bit with the led remote control stuff.
Should be just the right investment for this experiment.
A whopping $5.00!

Once I get my first loop of track complete, I’ll get back to the loco bash.

On a side note, a friend of mine has offered the services of the laser cutter at his company shop to cut some tie plates from acrylic for me.
I will be bringing him my handmade example for him to copy.
This will save me a whole lot of valuable time!

Anyone have any experience or thoughts about acrylic use outdoors?
I imagine it would be fairly resilient, but perhaps not?
