Large Scale Central

Sawmill for the P.B.R.R

I suppose I should have mentioned the roof was designed (if that word actually fits this hack project) to be removable. I built a basic mechanism for the blades, and put a couple of levers on it that are hooked to nothing, but because of where it is mounted it is difficult to see the levers, let alone what the rods are connected to on the other end. The small blade on top is a dremel cut off blade, and the drum that the drive belt will hook to is a rubber sanding drum from an old kit I had lying around. The belt between the 2 blades is masking tape, triple layer, epoxied and painted flat black.

and one of the roof set oblique. I could not imagine having an issue inside a building this size without a loose roof on it.

Did I forget to mention the handiness of a flat bed truck when working on a project like this? I can not imagine a better work bench…

We have heard that before. How many kids you have?? ;)

I finally got off my butt on got busy on the donkey engine. I wasn’t comfortable with any of the diameters available, and me being the complete do it myself type, finally came across a ‘tube’ I could live with, price and all. A Bachmann 4-6-0 battery powered loco has been collection dust, and willingly donated bits and peices for this project. Although far from pretty, this was made from ‘stuff’ already in my ‘stuff’ collection. The steam cylinder and chest are definitely too large for such an application, but were much simpler than building one. I can not see well enough to even want to go into a serious level of detail for something that will likely stay outside, and do not even want to attempt the level of modelling of some of you guys.

This is pretty close to where it will find a home.

And of course, the unpainted version.
