Bruce,
They are fun. The speed, acceleration, duration and comfort are quite amazing. Mine is fitted, but we aren’t that far off in size and Jan’s has some adjustment. Your welcome to try a “Country Road” next time you are in the area.

Working at the marina late Tuesday afterrnoon. The sun is just right, a gentle breese and truely my favorite time of year. Nothing beats being on the water in the Fall. Personal boat has been in storage for two years. It is truely hard to play where you work. But, I do need to shake the cobwebs out and make sure that my skills are still in tune. Temps and quietness are pulling at those old desires to be on the water. If it gets in your blood, it is always there. Fall is truely the best time of the year.
“There truly is nothing quite so worth doing as simply messing about in boats”
unless it is playing with trains or taking a quiet ride on a bicycle along a flowing stream.
Fall being the best time goes double here on our lake. The summer only residents make up a large percentage of the lake traffic. After labor day even weekends on the lake can be quiet and pleasant. On a weekday you can be the only boat for miles. That, and the weather is usually terrific into mid October.
We never did get our boat in this year. I was deep into troubleshooting the fuel problem when I cranked too long and burned out a $500 starter motor. That was the coffin nail. We invested over $1000 fixing the motor last summer, only to have it die a month later. We put $1500 in a new Sunbrella cover this spring and have nothing left to invest in the motor. I’m planning to clean it up inside and have it shrink wrapped before the end of the month. This will be the first year in over 10 that we didn’t have a boat in the water.
Fortunately my brother-in-law Lee also has a pontoon, and invites us out. We have chartered a tour with Lee for my brother and his fiance this weekend. This will be his first visit. We moved here in '82 :o
I have to agree baoting and cycling are excellent activities. When it comes to the biking I prefere the Mt. Bike on the trails. Our country roads are very scenic for riding although like Ralph, our roads are very hilly and twisty with no shoulders. I have the luxury of being less then a mile outside a state park and state forest with well ove 100 miles of trails. We laso have great rail trails one 26 miles long and the other 16 i think.
My kind of boating is the Kayak. We have great lakes and rivers to play on. The kayak just makes it easier to haul around
Another faverite activity of mine is hiking and when the snow comes cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
