Large Scale Central

Resurrection Of Crest

I’d like Kader to “man up” and make parts available – like the motors to the Bachmann G scale trolleys. Finally finessed their crappy gears, but I can’t 3D print a working motor. Yet.

Dick, how is providing parts “manning up”? I mean, they are making money for their owner’s and investors doing just what they are doing. And that is the purpose of any company, earning money. Parts apparently (from what folks are saying) isn’t a big money maker. Although I would think it could be, since there is so much product out there that by now needs replacement parts. Also many scratch-builders and kit-bashers would scramble to purchase certain parts, if they were available.

I have to wonder. LGB and Piko have a long list of available motors in their parts catalogs. I keep wondering if any of those could be adapted for use in certain other equipment.

Dick, Kader does not sell to consumers or dealers… Bachmann has to pitch it to the mother ship… They have had some parts, but they don’t seem to re-use parts like Aristo did… so if you have an older loco, Bachmann has no parts for it, and NO INTENTION of ordering them, based on previous performance.

But, perhaps a group of people lobbying Bachmann might convince them of the need. Unfortunately a few dozen vocal people is probably a drop in the ocean of customers.

Richard F…You can do like a lot of us are doing and get rid of the Bachmann motor block and replace it with a USA blocks… All you are going to do is keep having problem with all the past version made for the trolleys. Ours now will probably out last our life time.

Kader, like in any scale will make anything that makes money for them, but takes money to make anything better.

Bachmann must have found a cheap way to flood the market and a easier way to just replace most Trolleys than repair them. Evey time we send in for any repairs on any scale of theirs, we seem to always get back a brand new item in a new box.

Due to not to many Mgf out there in our hobby, sure would be great if Kader would pick up some of Aristo and other products to just test the waters.

Robby Dascotte has posted Sept. 13 that the progress on the takeover and reintroduction of the Crest line is:

"It is progress and should be available in 2 -3 months under new ownership. "

Robby Dascotte

Sounds promising, anyone else heard anything?

Steve, could you please post a link to that statement, i can not locate it on the RLD Hobbies site.

Thanks, Bob C.

Totally uncalled for

Bob its over in the MLS forum : http://forums.mylargescale.com/66-other-proprietary-control-systems/70546-so-has-anyone-taken-over-crest-product-line-yet.html

Now I think I may know the new owner…!!!

Yep. We should start a pool. I have to recuse myself though.

I’ll hold the money.

Revolution is returning. With perhaps a few new bells and whistles. Navin asked me not to disclose the new owner until an official announcement is made.

Thanks Steve, but still cautiously optomistic. Still too hush hush and keep it under the hat for me. Secrets usually don’t end like promised.

That’s good news for you Revo users. Wonder if they’ll be able to keep the name?

I guess that depends if they spent enough money to acquire the rights to the name.
