Dave you know we will not let him forget! (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
I know we won’t. But I was just reaffirming that he had not forgotten.
Don’t know what when I’ll get to the challange either…got another photo special weekend coming up!

He’s got a book to finish, too. Let us not forget that!
This is Eric’s thread not “the remind Devon about all he hasn’t finished” thread. We already have enough of those.
ROTFLMAO!

Devon, and you started most of them…
Sunday, I served as a brakeman for the photo special. kept me busy but I got a few shots:
Eric,
That was swell! It was a seldom seen view. Thanks.
Rooster did you see that … a woman filling the water tank! Yup woman’s work for sure! (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Thanks Eric!
Today I did some training … No that is LEARNING ON A TRAIN, Rooster! I am learning to be a certified Fireman … Yes, Rooster, that kind of fireman who MAKES fires…HEE HEE HEE!
It is not super simple to be a fireman on a steam locomotive…I know You Diesel fireman just keep the engineer company!
Obviously I get to make a fire:
But while playing with matches, I have to keep an eye on the water glass…to make sure there is water covering the “crown sheet” over the firebox.
I can add water using the steam injector…
between working the fire and the water I can keep the boiler pressure where it should be. I need enough steam pressure to do the job but not so much that the safety valve is popping. the tricky part is the amount of work the engine does changes all the time! keeping the pressure down when the engine is idle is nearly as hard as getting the power to do serious work.
Oh and all the while, I have to be the engineer’s extra set of eyes and ring the bell!

Thanks Eric!
Sorry for jacking up Eric’s great thread but I missed this post and we are beyond page three.
This better Sean?
Cool stuff. And that is a handsome little locomotive. Cute little coal scoop, too. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Bet there’s no room in there to swing one any larger.
Eric… Congratulations on the Firemans job. Welcome to the fraternal order of firemen… You left out getting to pull the blowdown… Whats the PSI rating on the boiler? As you’ve now learned, the engineer has it easy, the fireman does all the work.
CONGRATS again…
Good family resemblance there at least with the cinder eating grin!
