This is why I could never pick a favorite locomotive, or even a favorite class of locomotive. Little or big, rod or geared, they all have their own charms!
Eric
Nice write up in the latest issue of Trains mag …congrats again and very cool!
It is officially spring YAY!!!
The WW&F museum has a photo charter Friday, we did a test run of #9 with 4 freight cars and a coach. Mixed train. the Original boiler on flat 126 makes an interesting load!
Running around at the end of track…
I got to the museum around 9:30 and worked on the Dairy car truck (seen just behind the loco) we had it all apart to check the status on one wheel which turned out OK so it was nuts bolts washers wrenches and some dirty words and hands…roll the truck under the car, jack it down. and we are off!
I will miss the actual charter but hopefully see some of you guys (no gals in this forum?!) at York Friday and Saturday!
Nice to see #9 working. That fluff piece you showed us on her first run was fine but locos were meant to work. Seeing a mixed train and with a real load even just makes things right in the world. I live vicariously through these threads. I told my wife I want to come see this loco in action and maybe even get a ride in that coach. Wouldn’t that be fun.
Come to the National Narrow Gauge Convention in Augusta this September. There will e tours and two foot trains galore including #9 plus my Winnegance and Quebec open house. Or just come up to visit Maine this summer. The WW&F runs steam every weekend!
Eric a trip to Maine would be a fun idea. Nice get away for the wife and I. How late into the fall do they run. I have always wanted to go to Maine in the fall. And the wife loves lobster. Maybe we could ride Amtrack (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif)(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif)

We hosted a spring photo charter… beautiful weather and a great looking mixed train! enjoy the video!
Number Nine waits at Alna Cennter
While some milk cans are loaded by energetic workers
Taking a drink at the water tank.
a good head of steam while hauling the mixed train passed Rosewood Crossing.
as the cars rumble and clank by.
Trains will run both days weekends from around memorial day through Columbus days…check the web site for details…wwfry.org
Where’s the “I like it a lot” button?..(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
What is the fireman pouring into the tank just before he begins filling with water. The stuff in the plastic water bottle that looks like Coke?
Thank you for this video?
When I see this prototype, I say to myself that without wanting to make a certified true copy, I did not make many errors
Devon, number nine is all MAINE thus it has to be MOXIE not Coke! It is actually Oxygen Scavenger used to prevent corrosion.
That is a good looking engine there Jean-Gilles…it really looks like a what if version of a Maine two footer! What scale is it?
Thank Eric, it’s on 20,3
Last week we finished refurbishing the Deep Throat Riveter which we will use to build new boilers for WW&F #10 and our Replica of Baldwin WW&F #7. We tested it by riveting the smoke box back onto the original boiler from #9

Gee, I always wondered what kind of “person” would be inside of there bucking the rivets. I had no idea that they even made such a machine. That is just so cool.
