That was fascinating! Looey to Lt. Colonel in one fell swoop is a big jump, but well-deserved in this gentleman’s case.

The only thing wrong with people today is, We can't carry guns! Attitudes change real quick when dealing with someone who has a 45 on their hip!
I absolutely agree. The impoliteness of people is directly related to the fact that they do not feel there will be any retribution for their actions. If it was not know whether or not a selfish act without disregard for others might be a persons last act, they might rethink what they were doing. We now must deal with lawyers and judges dowling out rules that only benefit their interest and their personal religeon of law. They are just the current bullies in charge. It will change, but these things go in cycles and if society hasn’t reached the bottom, yet. It is hard to know how long it will take to clilmb out of this hole.
Bart said, "I like to think managers and supervisors like people who can make them look good…and people who can make themselves as useful as possible are the best way to do that…Sure…the other workers might call ya a suck up or a butt kisser…but I feel good doing an honest days work…45.7 hours on the time clock this week BTW… "
Everybody likes to look good or be part of a winning team. I think that is natural. Everyone should feel they deserve to be rewarded for doing an honest day’s work. However, all work isn’t physical and when employees get to go home and not be concerned about what is still happening at a facility, manager’s must still be thinking of how to make the payroll to keep those good people you work with employeed. Everybody likes to feel part of a winning team. Most jobs are easy or rewarding if everyone from the owner to the watchman feels they are getting their fair share.
And this gets back to my earlier statement - The impoliteness of people is directly related to the fact that they do not feel there will be any retribution (or rewards) for their actions.

Certainly not necessary. The fact that you would consider to come and if you can leave with a smile or even a look of confusion on your face, that is enough of a thank you. For most people in this World, you really never have to speak the same language to enjoy each others company. Did you ever notice laughing sounds exactly the same in every language?

I wasnt bitchin... not intentionally anyway, but just observing that bad behavior has a long history. When I was a code enforcement building inspector you HAD to be polite with some often very nasty people, use Sir or Madame, and be very diplomatic and consuesive to get people to clean up their property, honey vs vinegar thing, it was easy for me as thats the way I was raised.consuesive
It’s what happens when you con Sue with a sieve.I know - hat, coat, door . . . .
Sorry, should have use “persuasive”
