OK…so I’ll take that as a complement then?
I’m in. I was a size 32 from graduation untill about 4 years ago. Now I’m up to a 36 and its all in the gut. I guess truning 41 was my down fall. I think I could drop 30 LBS and be happy with that. Taco Bell has a drive thrught diet so I dont think I will starve. I can drink Diet Mountain Dew and I could go with a small Starbucks coffee and not the big one.
So how long do we have to drop the fat? When do we start? I vote for right after the first of the year on starting.
Another New Years’ Challenge? But honestly, what can you scratchbuild outta used fat?

2 part challenge? January lose weight, Feb $1 per pound budget build? lol…
Good one Mik…some guys will have a much bigger budget than others. Guess I won’t be participating, still weigh the same as I did 35 years ago.
I just wanna know what happens if somebody GAINS? They get to supply the prize? … In that case it might be $25 worth of Fritos just to be cruel
When I was in my best shape with no fat, I was 205lbs. Weighed myself this morning, 202lbs.
But I have a lot less muscle now. At 205lbs, I was a strong SOB.
So I might be 5 to 7lbs. over weight. The trick will be not adding to that over the Winter when my physical activity goes way down.

I reduced the number of cheeseburgers and french fries I eat after I had a near-fatal diabetic stroke at age 49.
Because of it’s affect on my eyesight I ended up medically retired.
When I was relearning to walk I sunburned the bottom of my feet which keeps me from running and biking…
I will say retirement from my high-stress job was great for my eating.
And so was garden railroading. I was on hands and knees and laying on the ground digging my trenches for my free floating track. It’s amazing how much exercise I got from 600 feet of track laying!
I’ve gotten a lot more from garden railroading than I even did from all the therapy I’ve had!
My exercise today is the railroad and splitting firewood. There’s always a way to exercise. I still fight my weight but I eat a lot more salad and vegetables than I used too.
Fight the good fight!
Good luck, Cale!
Now that the heavy labor part of my layout is done, I need to get back into a regular exercise regimen and stick with it. My preferred method is long, vigorous walks, at least 3-4 times a week. But I’ve been slacking off on that the last couple months. My biggest problem is that I hate the wasted time aspect of exercising! I don’t mind the effort as long as I’m doing something constructive (like building my layout). But exercise just for the sake of it is boring and takes up time that I’d rather spend doing some useful.
my wife threatens to have one of these stationary exercise bikes combined with a electric generator.
her idea is, that i should pedal if i want to surf the net.

I too was thinking about the trains. Since we have solar panels for the house ours are powered by solar!
