Large Scale Central

One LAST Request For Your E-mail Help!

HJ,

Your theory works well, as long as you assume that the large scale pie did not grow after 1968 and the prices (value) did not grow after 1968. Percentages are great plaything! I was taught that I could make them do anything I wished as long as I could define the parameters.

I recall a newspaper article where all the local teachers were called to attend meeting with a single agenda item. They announced that 52% of the members present were for a labor negotiation request. They failed to mention that over 50% of their members chose not to attend and in reality less than 25% were “for” since the no-shows were really “no” votes. Great fun!

Jack,

Reality check!

That is how market share works! Anyone who has paid any attention to what has been happening the past 7 years in the LS business knows. All I need to do is talk to the various dealers.

No publicist or any number of spindoctors will change the hard facts.

Perhaps you should consult the Garden Railways Association for some “hard figures”.

Ah, so.

I must modify somewhat my verbiage.
While “shill” was becoming obvious, “stooge” is now the more appropiate term.

When anyone with a vested interest and a plan sends out e-mails to the “shills” who post it (as on this thread) without, and I say again for possible penetration, WITHOUT saying who it was from, that shifts the entire process into the “stooge” category.

While I was careful before, dealing with the obvious “shill” input, this is now so far out there I have just re-opened my database of people not to deal with, and added a few names.

Dave,

On my list: Jerry McColgan; Jack Barton; Larry Otis; Marvin Brown.

How many am I missing? Three, five or even more??

What makes it hard is that there are more than three.

Larry , Moe and Curley are certainly good at name calling.
I think that’s actually the " lowest form of wit"

Jack,
That looks like you are claiming LGB actually increased their profitability without increasing any sales which can only mean they were overpricing them in the market place. If so, maybe that is what sent them broke?

Let’s just say, Jack, you now have world-wide distribution.

Wow, Thanks…What a Great Group of People to be listed with!

You can put me in there too!

You guys are … are really entertaining for the first 20 or so posts then it gets into personalities and for lack of a better word denigration of the other party’s thoughts, conjectures, and interpretations. That isn’t entertaining or useful…at least to me at a minimum.

I joined the forum to learn about Large scale, and I’ve made my position that the loss of a competitor is bad for the hobby overall well known in other threads.

Isn’t it time to just wait and see what the “insolvency court” decides? all of the inuendo, animosity generated in these threads is not helping the hobby attract new people or to this site.

My opinion is free, and you may value it as you will…

Mark

JJ,

Your name wasn’t on the list??? Hmmmmmmmm ??

“Shills” and “Stooges” are quite apt, considering the circumstances. You know how “obsessive” I am about getting things “in print” :). Yep, having that in print puts a smile on my face!
