Oh yea. Sure. Now where did I put that paper bag full of depleted uranium?

I looked last night. I didn’t find the blue painted, depleted uranium, bullet shaped things, but I did find a box of dilithium crystals. But the crystals are for another mode of transportation that I haven’t built yet.

I actually got to hold a depleted uranium shell from an M1 Abrams tank.

I think this was the bugger

Maybe the Army will let you have one.

I read where the early model Bachman Lyn was geared for speed, while the later model was nicely geared.

So when I see one on eBay etc. how does one tell the difference or is there a specific question to ask the seller which provides a telltale?

OK I admit I have become totally obsessed with tiny locomotives.

That’s a virtue, not a vice! (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

I hope this helps you https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/42424-bachmann-g-scale-lb-lyn/

The real important difference is on the inside - A metal gear train not plastic. Also the newer version comes in the familiar bright red “Spectrum” labeled boxes, I think the old ones were black with a clear window.

There is a black generic “US” version, with a diamond stack, as well as the the ones modeled on the late Southern Railways liveried L&B prototype. that would make a good yard switcher. I owned the early version, one of my first “G” locos, nice little loco but as the 2nd hand ones will be 20 years old + probably to be avoided. I replaced it with the Accucraft 16mm scale live steamer…, a bit of step change.
