O.D. & O.S. Mueller 2025 Mik - Steampunk Loco

Whoops! You are right…the two older ones are doing this project!

So you are cheating then … Of all the people !!!.. What would Mik say???

Pistons added…

He tried to connect the rods to the pins in the drivers. Beyond have the same problems I did, the E6000 did not provide a large range of motion after it set. He has decided to leave them as decorative devices.

O.D. plans to start the painting process in her typical fashion…at the last minute!

Second to last day, and these two were on the lanai executing the beginning of the end!

O.S. fiddled with the battery hook-up…

While O.D. stepped up to begin the finishing.

One day left!

Love the battery location and firebox door!

Since we are on vertical cylinders I thought I would add Puffing Billy which was an important influence on George Stephenson.

@Rooster, apparently this photo was one of the things that inspired the design of this year’s MIK!

Speaking of which, along amongst the projects, this one almost didn’t come together.

O.S. had coated the exterior with TiteBond III, something we do to all of our wooden buildings. O.D. didn’t realize that this effectively sealed the wood, so here initial brown wash ended up being a brown coat of paint! Making it worse, she chose a thick oil based paint. The two of them grabbed sandpaper, chisel blades, and scraper and worked this project over to expose bare wood.

Actually, O.S. drifted off…I hauled him back to the bench to preserve peace.

With time scare, I suggested they used a water-based wood stain I had on hand. They coated the newly exposed wood, had dinner, then set to adding some paints and letters.

Ladies and Gentleman, I present…
