_Century’ locos !
_50ft+ flats and gons’ (less length than their running problematic autoracks)
“…autoracks must have sold well…”
Maybe they cleared a quite a lot of units via their sale 3-4 months back !!

The heavyweights look different than the Aristo ones.
Anyway, I think the P42 or even the EMD F59PH would have been better. I am guessing no Superliners as USA trains has a more East Coast focus, but viewliners would have been nice.

The P42 Genesis was LGB’s baby, it never sold well, wrong scale probably didn’t help, same for the LGB Amfleet cars. If USA makes them in 1/29 they could sell pretty well, it was the scale druthers that turned alot of people off on the LGB units.
I thought the same thing about the F59s, ALOT of commuter lines run them, but ALOT of commuter lines also still run F40s, and if the F40 sells well (if they produce it) the F59 is potentially a reshell away using the same chassis. You couldn’t do that with the P42 and any other engine. The problem with the F59 is which one? this:
or this:
I really like the F40s, I always like the looks of them…but if I had to chose one thing only on that list, it would be the Northern, that would sell like Popsicles on a hot day.
Actually, The P-42 Genesis and the Amfleet cars were a design and product of LGB america, made in china… Most LGB collectors didn’t consider it as ““proper”” LGB products, since it was not made in Europe… At the time they were introduced, I do believe they were supposed to be and advertised as being 1/29th scale…

What’s your point dad?
The point was he had information to share, although I don’t remember them being advertised as 1:29.
Greg
I know they were LGB America, not LGB proper. so where did the molds and tooling go? As for scale, I remember the same rubber ruler scale comments about those items too, although IIRC the ruler wasn’t quite as rubbery with them.

I remember someone measured them and they actually scaled out to 1/26 or 1/27 scale, they were bigger than 1/29
When garden railways reviewed it, they said it scaled nicely to 1/29…
Thanks Red… the loco or the cars?
By the way, nice to see another person from Sandy Eggo!

Yep!
Actually they are about a short 1:26 but the scale matters not to me as they look good .
I agree with David. The LGB Amtrak equipment is a bit off in scale, but they look great. it’s less of an issue with passenger trains since the equipment is rarely handed off to other trains.
Rooster, thanks for the info, I can’t trust Garden Railways reviews much…
Are they just short, how about height and width?
Thanks, Greg
It’s always good when you here about posible new products no matter what they may be. There are some good items mentioned which I would buy for sure. Now lets see what gets made. Later RJD

That, I believe RJ, is the $64,000 question. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Is it possible that AML and USATrains have got together on some of these possible products?
Bet we are looking at years before anything new from the wish list. Sounds pessimistic, but just look at the AML GP60. Oh, wait, there is still nothing to look at.
No doubt that we all will have many more birthdays before we see these any of these items!!
Might be too old by then or even down the road to the engraved stone trackless garden layout!!!
I didn’t see any pics of heavyweights, although I have about 20 Aristos, always liked heavyweights, some 4 axle, some 6 axle, some on two legs with high heels!!LOL
Not a chance… if they had, they would not even mention duplicating products. Greg

Yes, we all know about the release dates of stuff being pushed back, and back, and back again. But I see this as a ray of hope. USA seams to think that there is still a market for new products, and they are willing to spend some cash to find out.
