Large Scale Central

New turntable build

Great build Joe. It rivals the oil rig and that is saying something (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif).

Well done sir. With these latest additions you are heading toward a well detailed pike. (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

if that were my work, i would be very proud of it.

Your turntable came out great Joe. When will we see photos of it in place and spinning?

I think you were smart to make it a gallows type because the engine will be protected better when hanging at the edge of your RR.

And remember, boys and girls, turntables are more fun with your friends along for the ride,

No easy task to place the express train steam locomotive A 3/5 # 705 on the turntable in Etzwilen (turntable diameter 16.5 m, wheel base A 3/5 with tender 15.45 m)…

Hence the name “Armstrong Turntable”.

The turntable is installed and the new yard is complete! Here’s the “before” pic:

There’s something very satisfying about fresh-laid track. This completes the track work for the fifth town on the line. Structures will be added as the years go by.

Now, I’m about a month behind in layout maintenance…

Very nice, Joe. Looks like it works well!

Man, that turntable looks just like it was intended to be there from the start.

Yes, new track does have an appealing esthetic.

Sweet!

Now that’s a much better use of that space! Looks great!

The Santa Fe built this one in Poland Az.
