Large Scale Central

New station

Looks great, and it has come to life.

It didn’t survive it’s first nite…got blown off the platform by all the wind last nite and I had to bring it inside…no damage, but I guess it needs some weight.

40mph winds here. Half of my buildings are blown over.
Ralph

They weren’t quite 40 mph, but where it was located is right at the corner of the house, and it acts like a tunnel effect right there. I can either screw it down to the platform or find some weight to add to it. I guess this should answer Mr. Smith’s query about buildings blowing over made from this stuff…

The corner of the house is also where I have the biggest problems with buildings and rolling stock blowing over.
Two box cars on the yard lead blew over, while those a few feet away in the yard were fine.
Ralph

The wind here is blowing around quite a bit all night. And dang cold. You’re a brave man to venture out to save a building.

I have a slight problem with blowing winds at times…

It can get windy here. One time we had a 110 gust that picked up my 14x14-foot metal building and put it up side down on our 6-foot chain link fence! And it was bolted to a slab!

The station now has a rock inside it…even screwed down to the platform, the whole shebang ended up out in the yard…scratched the paint on the roof, but it held up well, after a 20’ tumble through a flower bed…

With those storms we had I have a crossing tower that did a flip and damaged the roof which has to be repaired. It’s going to get staked and tied down before our “serious” winds come in the spring!
