Large Scale Central

New station

More progress… Finished up the roof and got it painted…found a can of spray paint at Lowe’s called “cappuccino”, looked to be a mix of lite brown and lite gray.

Made up a few signs for it…

Still working on something for the roof peak on the tower…Rooster doesn’t think a rooster weather vane would be fitting…

It was in the Valspar Premium Enamel rack..............I wanted a flat color but all they had was satin..............

Satin’s good. Trim is usually bright, anyway.

Real Nice Ken!
Since your a smoker as well I found that seaming the PP on the back with CA and ash work well filling the gap but baking soda does the same as well. The baking soda does better if you soak it in some vinegar first.

Another nice addition for your pike Ken. I think it looks great. How about a rotating KFC carton for the weather vane ?

Ken,

How about a simple lightning rod for the peak?

Wonderful work Ken. I’ve been sharing your photos with the folks at the sign shop to show them where all the scrap I keep taking has ended up. They all think it’s very cool. One comment “how do you learn to do all that ?” was answered with ‘by sharing ideas and techniques on a forum like LSC’. The answer puzzled them. I guess they don’t have any friends with common interests

Well, I fashioned a corbeled chimney from some Styrofoam…not to happy with the look, so I may try making one from wood or styrene. I also need a chimney or 2 for the other station…so I’ll see what I can come up with.

A friend of mine also gave me some old fashioned looking street lites that I plan on adding to the platform. Haven’t tried it yet but I think a single 9v battery will work to lite them.

I'll have to try that. I was using silicone but that stuff leaves a mess.................(what does the vinegar do to the baking soda?)

Ken dont trust that rooster Vinegar and baking soda might blow up that great looking station.
You said you wanted a flat color for that brown. Can you spay it with the Krylon flat clear coat to dull it up?

I already gave it a coat of flat. It needs a couple more coats..............;)

Vinegar and baking soda can be used to propel homemade rockets :open_mouth:
It appears we need to make a rocket…and strap that scrawny Rooster to it
Ralph

We’ll have to meet Ray out in the dessert to launch.

I thought that combination sounded familiar...............;)

What are you using for glue for the coroplast?

Ahhh disregard the glue question, I see it at the beginning of the thread.

A rooster just can't have no fun anymore! Well it does work minus the vinegar ..do it on the back side with CA and ash or baking soda then touch a lit smoke to the combination and watch it cure and seal up. Go to the front and clean residual then paint.

I think it’s done.
