New business

Maybe I can get it done this week and end the suspense!

Waiting in breathless anticipation…

Our light is not very good today but the new business is done. An open house will be held when the weather improves.

It’s the Sagging Bedspring Factory, isn’t it, Doug?

I trust that the coming open house will feature a sign???

This seems like as good a time as any to post my inquiry – How do you guys attach corrugated siding/roofing to your structurea? I make mine out of aluminum pop/beer cans on a Fiskars roller obtained courtesy of a half-price sale at Michael’s.

Amusing answers always appreciated; useful answers more so! Cheers, guys!

I got my crimper at Michael’s too.

When I built the ore processing mill which was three stories I never drank so much diet soda!

I use E6000 to attach the cans. I was getting it at Michael’s but Wal-mart also stocks it and they are cheaper.

Most of the smaller buildings that have metal siding are framed the same way I used to frame. They are framed with stds that are about an inch apart so 1 stud is in the middle of the metalto lend support.

For the roof I was using 1/8-inch surface that gave me a flat surface to work with.

I can no longer get the hardwood so this time I had some 3/8 inch cement board. It turned out to be easy to work with and to attach the metal. We’ll see how it lasts in the weather outside.

I have been using Goop to secure many things, like my metal roof to the plywood under-structure or coroplast.

Small spikes from ME.

Hans, spiking down corrugated metal, creates holes for moisture to get in through. That kind of defeats the purpose of a roof.

It’s grand opening time at the new business in Silver Onyx. Esprcially since it’s Saturday!

Looking good Douglas.

It’s a barber shop

Noone guessed that one !

Bill

Thanks Bill. When people were guessing what it was that was the one thing no one guessed!

I wonder what that group’s that’s getting haircuts is going to do tonight!

After the Challenge John I’ll have to pick the next project. Maybe it’s time to build a trolley barn!

Looks like those fellas could use a trim.
Back in the day many Barbers were also Dentists.

I like the way your new building looks like it is has been there for decades.

Maybe we need to work on Arrowhead Water

Our brains think alike. I was just thinking that.

There must be some information somewhere on the Arrowhead Water facility that was near the Arrowhead Hotel.

That turned out really nice, Doug! The corrugated metal and bright red trim brings to mind some of the old buildings in Randsburg, CA.
