Shawn, with the greatest of respect - even building a ‘small’ portable steam track in this country would cost a small fortune - we don’t have the wondrous Lowes and Home Depots and their special deal days for wood and other materials. Indeed, most of the wood here comes from Oregon and BC, if it doesn’t come from Scandinavia, and is priced like sheets of solid gold. Howsabout a single sheet of marine ply for just under $200? I priced build a ‘small’ portable track here, using Dwight Enniss’ plans and cutting corners wherever I could, and the cost of this 15x30 track was well north of $1800.

Most folks here simply don’t have either the $$$ or the space, OR the vehicles to buy, store or transport such a thing. GROUPS do, but not individuals.

It might make you feel a bit better tac if I tell ya that a sheet of Maple 4’x10’ (good 1 side)at my place of employ cost my employer $386.00. So we can only guess what the list price will be

John - lool your emails. I’ve sent you a set of drawings of the loco and the part numbers for the necessary O-rings that you might need to replace.

Dave, I agree that it’s a ridiculous price, but it’s not as though this stuff grows on trees, y’know.
