Matt Kirichok build 2017

Well, the stones are all glued.

I have also applied the stucco to the 2nd stories and tried to stucco the top layer of stones. It looks like I’ll have to glue them on since the stucco (sand grout) didn’t ‘stick’ them good enough. I’ll know for sure tomorrow after it has all dried and sets.

Looks like I’ll have to cut some stones to fill in the gaps above the doors. I’ll take care of that after the door holes are cut out and the doors are glued in.

Then onto the roof.

Giving extra points on my end for band usage to hold it all together while drying !

The stucco really ties it together Matt. I’m waiting to see this one finished (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

The stucco’s textured just right and the color’s perfect. I’m looking forward to what’s next. Actually I like that dark brown stone with the stucco color, but a red might or sandstone would look good too I think.

edit: whatcha going to do for the roof?

I like your stucco, it is courser than mine and that is good! It looks troweled on.

Yes, it is definitely a great finish.

Chris

Nice work on the stucco! I’m looking forward to the grand opening and a bottle of wine!..(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Thanks guys. Seems the ‘stucco’ look is being used with some other builds. This year it seems like we’ve all been helping each other with ideas and each others builds. Last year it was the ‘town’

Finish…ah yes. I still need to finish. Been working on some details. Still need to put the building together and place it on the platform. I should be able to finish in time (at least I sure hope I can).

Till tomorrow…keep on truckin’ The end is near.

The finish line is in sight. Fortunately or unfortunately, the wife and kid are sick. unfortunately for them. fortunately for me…no “going out” plans which allowed me to stay home and try wrapping this project up.

Just getting to putting the roof on…

Still have to glue those windows in…

Also spent some time for some of the details - staining the barrels and making barrel racks…

I should be able to wrap this up tomorrow and get a good night sleep knowing that this build was fun and allowed me to improve on myself. Now the rest of you, I don’t know how you do just a great job AND keep the jabbering up on this forum. Caffeine, sugar, and all those stones. That must have been the trick (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Nice work Matt. I have thought about trying the styrofoam type sheet insulation that you used. I also like the stucco. Very nice… Looking forward to a barrel of wine!

looking good

Gee…most of us just drink it by the glass (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

There are quite a number of interesting projects spread throughout this web forum.
