Large Scale Central

Marty's

Pictures of 2008. We were fortunate to arrive on Thursday evening and started looking over the new additions to “Marty’s World”. As always there are new additions and changes to the North Table Creek. Right away, a track inspection crew was sent out.

They explored the new trackage and trestle.

And then sent word back to the boss that supplies could start being routed over the new trackage. “Archie” was sent out to make a delivery and see what he could find.

A new route.

and some spectacular scenery

On Friday afternoon and Saturday morning the crowd was arriving. There is some duplication, but look around the railroad and count the number of silhouettes in these pictures. You can use the one tree as a reference point.

And, of course, there is always activity in “the Shop”

I guess, you have all heard about the Golding Terminal, Marty made it very clear it wasn’t named after me, and I don’t blame him. But here is the real signage, without being photo shopped by Stan.

and what it looks like from a little further back.

But sometimes wrecks happened and this time Stan (TWS) was the victim of an accident. He was rear ended deep in the terminal. Shawn went to the rescue.

I guess you wonder how all these people are fed. Sometimes, so do we. “Bubba” (Anthony) was doing his best as the great hunter, with his faithful companion Terry Jackson, shooting frogs.

And then the final shots are of Stan getting the group picture organized.

There are a lot more pictures over on the other site in the Large Scale Events, including the group photo with the help of Stan’s photo skills. Thanks to Marty and Carrie and all the people that make this such a great event.

Soooooooooo were are the captions to go with those pictures??

This was a ““Captain Morgan’s”” imitation pose… It was the only way you could receive a cell phone signal… You always had to ““assume the position”” to take a call… hehehe

Yikes!

…and if you can’t make out the writing on the red t shirt I’m wearing…its a “largescalecentral.com” T shirt I got from Bob. Marty gave due credit to this whole “thingy” being started by folks from LSC!!!

Yea, way back in the mists of time it all started here. I gotta figure out how to get out there sometime.

Bob, it's an easy drive for you.... :D It's a great time. The Best Western rooms go in a hurry.....

Gee, Fred, not all of us have a licence from the College of Surgeons ...

…a railroad.

Sorry, I guess I should finish my thoughts.

Chris.......good to have you keeping me well on track....!!!

Fred,

All it takes is enough like minded people, for instance a Canadian Invasion of the NTCGRR could make that happen.

Had some Canadians there two years ago. I had a good time, as usual. THink I’ll get the Z on battery power and take it next year and leave all the live steam stuff at home, easier carry! Jerry

On-board batteries in Z scale. Has RCS got anything that'll fit? (Lies back in coffin, chuckling evilly)
