Lil Big Hauler loco bash, what to bash?

This is sort of what I was thinking of:

Or perhaps:

(the origin of teh idea for the galloping geese?)

I did a search for “steam powered rail car”, but earlier “steam rail car” turned up a few better images. Make sure you are in teh image search engine, not eh standard web viewer.

Those are fairly big for the pizza layout, remember I’m operating on 36" dia track.

Here is the Aussie Coffee Pot i was reffering to:

Only I was considering breaking the trailing passenger car into two separate units so it could bend easier on the pizza.

PS tenatively started on the Arizona Mining Porter bash, broke something off on the Porter so now I kinda hafta do the bash, oops :open_mouth:

Now that I can post pics again,

JD this is what I wa referring to, one of the 0-4-4 mining engines used by the Arizona Copper Mining Co. The biggest problem would be that to operate on my pizza both the drive and trailing truck would have to pivot like a Mason. That would involve ALOT of cutting on the LBH. there wouldnt be much left of the LBH afterwords.

Well I got the floorplate extended on my last LGB Porter with the tiny 4 wheel trailing truck tucked under, took it out to the pizza and it totally failed to navigate it, it hit just about everything. Where it hit I couldn’t hack my way into clearances so I decided to quit while I could and disassembled it. So my lone stock LGB Porter will remain as such, a stock version of the venerable LGB Porter. So much for that idea.

Still looking at a US version of the Coffee Pot for the Lil Hauler drive. I really need either a couple of the old LGB Toytrain passenger cars (but they might be too large) or scratch bodies onto HLW Minicars to make it work.

Did you know a Bachmann Lyn cab fits squarely on the LGB Porters footplate???

Finally decided, one of these:

Plus the green one of these:

Equals: Mini-boxcab

I decided to do what was kind of in the back of my mind when I bought the lil green bug hauler. I am planning to re-coupler the large red boxcab to knuckles and use it on the Harbor layout, leaving the desire to have a very little boxcab for the Pizza. Admittedly the caboose is the one lil hauler item I have that really didn’t have a place on either layout, so it gets the chop. This way, two items becomes one item.

This is an ongoing process I am going thru, I really need to get my roster chopped down to a manageable level.

Taking pics as I go, will post some soon.
