I see you said RailPro but what is the power source - Battery or Track?
Might be a RailPro loco module problem.

I’ve done a few different tests today. When the engine is on the rollers it runs fine. Took it out to the mainline and it was a no go. I then set up an 8’ banquet table and it ran just being on the table…no rollers and not track. Placed a piece of straight track on the table and the engine would move. I’m guessing at this point that there is loose connection somewhere between the power trucks and the motor.
And my set up is RC/Battery. No DCC or track power.
that i don’t understand.
what for are the power trucks, if you are using battery power?
I’m just using the term (perhaps incorrectly) to separate any confusion between the pilot wheels and the rear wheels under oil bunker…that’s all.
i’m always learning more.
powertrucks = drivers/drivingtrucks.
so, if you say, it must be between the (running?) motor and the wheels, there must be a loose gear or so?
Update on my LGB Forney. Karl, our club president came out yesterday and we spent the morning troubleshooting the engine. Good news it was just a loose red wire. Easily fixed however, a tight little fit soldering a little more length of wire to the motor… Did a test run throughout the day and everything worked just fine.
