My LGB Christmas locomotive (25171) just quit. Sounds like a problem similar to that discussed in this thread from just over a year ago.
In my case the locomotive ran for a while after being set up for Christmas and then just stopped. The engine lite was lit. I tried it again a little later and then this AM - no joy.
The tender had power.
Is there any more information available on how to get the locomotive fixed?

Geoff, before you do anything irreversible, 1) disconnect the motor 2) connect it to a power supply and test it If the motor works fine, connect it back to the circuit board and test it again (after putting it back into the engine) If your problem reoccurs, write to LGB/Maerklin asking for a replacement circuit board.
