I can’t, that’s how far behind I am on this…(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Doing the tedious work that takes time for not much results. But I did get all of the paint work touched up and water sealed the shingles and platform decks. Water sealer really brought out the redwood shingle color. I have some of my LEDs collected so I can start to wire the clock tower back lighting and finish the roof up on it.

Chris

I wouldn’t be ashamed to put that on my layout. I see you moved to the big city!

Living through the roofing tedium has been well rewarded.

That’s looking real good Chris.

Shane

Looking very good Chris, The ole roof is almost done

Dennis

I added 3 of my 3d printed stacks to the depot tonight. Some blocking for mounting LEDs is starting to go in as I am beginning to work on lighting.

Chris the stacks looks really good too

Still working on the detail work on the depot. I’m getting to the point of adding the porch post and decided to make 3d printed iron posts. I printed the upper and lower sections and installed a tube in between so I can adjust the height. First test set I used a 3/16" tube. Here is that test set made up and in primer. To me they look just a tad bit small. I’m considering changing to a 1/4" tube. What do you guys think?

I think they look just fine.

Looks OK to me, too.

I think you’d better go with what makes you happy.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

the tube must have a diameter of 4 or 5 scale-inches.

seems to be more than enough to me.

Since you are asking “what I think” !

POSTS LOOK GREAT … but the header is way to heavy/big and short as well from the pic. Raise the posts and lighten the header, then extend to outside edges and balance the roof with 1:1 12" overhang. Unless you are going to continue around the parameter with brackets, corbels and crown molding or running trim . Make sense?

You asked ?

Only my thoughts !

The header does look to big (1/2" tall), but I can’t change that without building all new porch roofs. Those were part of the building when i bought it. I think that might be part of the reason I believe the post look small. I was thinking of making a laser piece to look like iron scroll work for the front of the headers to break them up. Once I get the posts the way I want, I will be making iron brackets to come off them to the headers.

the post looks fine

The header will not be noticed on the layout as you will be looking down a little
