I second Ken. A doodle bug of some sort would be cool

Ken,

For some reason seeing that just gave me an idea for a “microbug” i have a Bachmann lil hauler baggage coach that I have no use for. I think I will add that to my bucket to make a tiny doodle bug.

There he goes again. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif)

What you need running up there is M-10

Anyone got an old combine laying around

I have an old Bachmann combine, or 4, layin around.

I have a Lil Hauler but I want to build a LS version of Bmann On30 railcar with it. But I want to do that M10 for the outdoor layout eventually. My biggest problem is as always drive blocks, or lack thereof to select from.

Vick, for steam blocks you can purchase them from Heartland. Just call the parts department.

USA trains would be the source for diesel blocks. Its a shame they don’t seam to list complete power trucks (side-frames and all) on their website, because I could use a few.

If you can find one of these around anywhere

You’d be 3/4 of the way there…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

I have a couple USA blocks trouble is they are much taller than the Bmann combine trucks so I would have to cut them up into the frame. Doable but symptomatic of the lack of options for kitbashing. Even worse for single axle drives.

North West Shortline…

Fred, since they quit making the flea in large scale (45mm), and since I have read some questionable remarks regarding their motor blocks for large scale, I didn’t even consider them. Or maybe it was the magic carpet they quit making. Whatever it was, I was considering it way back when I had a power project on the build list.

Here is a video of my reverse unit in operation

I also added one on my outdoor layout. The reverse loops on the layout did not have trackpower, only the outer loop. I decided to make the longer reverse loop into a back and forth.

Im trying to gt a Hartland Railbus or one of the older Delton but I have yet found the price Ill pay, thats dirt cheap Shawn price.

The auto reversing devices are perfect for your applications. Your indoor setup is terrific.

If you keep an eye out on the various bidding sites I’m sure you will be able to snag a railbus in the $75 range.

I have an aristo version with a mylocosound card in it and it putters about the layout when I want to run something different.

That is one beautiful creation. Just wish it was live steam.(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

It’s ok Ron. I bet even the purist of Live steamers has a sparky hid away in the closet somewhere. I have one for my son until he’s big enough to start burning his fingers. We’ll give Shawn a pass this time. Besides, we don’t want him burning down the house running live steam in it! (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

This shows how I added a motor delay circuit, with low voltage to the Phoenix sound card, in the railbus so that when the auto-reverser reverses, the operator opens and closes the door and starts the engine before proceeding.

Haha well now I have an excuse to keep my few sparkies and not convert them into battery. If I could only run live steam on the overhead…

Todd that is neat with the sound and doors opening etc…

Very nice, I have bee trying to get my wife to let me do this…
