Well duhhhh how bout a pic of it, for us poo white foks dat cant afford to get G R.
Ray,
Just got my mag today, what a great looking RR.
You must have done the photo shoot before your
mods to your RS-3 ?
Nick
Ray, you are the MAN! Bad ass work! You are my inspiration for that “eye for details”! And my brother John would get his GR in a timely manner if they delivered mail where he lives…The courier is delivering it tonight! So how much allowance did the “cash keeper” allow you for the show? The Old Hebrew, as you call me, is bringing enough to do some damage…LOL!
I haven’t seen GR on the newstands yet Terry. Why does it take soooooo long to cross the Atlantic?.
Somehow I think the last issue (October) will be my last one. On the GR Forum they mention a reader survey. It always finishes before the mag arrives in the UK. I did ask if they were not interested in UK readers views. I never got a reply. Whilst there are some nice pics of various garden railroads in GR at this point I have built and maintained my RR for over seven years and I am not in the market for much new stock so not a great deal to interest me in the pages of GR.
Now a far more interesting read is Classic Trains.
Great article Ray! Really nice photos on the RR, but I think they could do an entire Mag on your pike and still not show off all the detail and highlights.

Alan - I had a subscription to GR since 1998. This year I had no less than six reminders to renew it, as well as the ones in the magazine itself. I’m also all ‘bought-out’ and seriously out of buying anything more to run, in fact, this last year I have disposed of over forty locomotives and almost a hundred pieces of rolling stock.
Staying here in UK is costing us fortune, but is not an option, so cutting back on non-essentiials like a mag that just might have an interesting article in it is just one economy we are making.
With Ray’s article in it, it will be a nice way to say au revoir.

Nicholas Savatgy said:Thanks! Yes, I sent in the article September of last year, just a few weeks before I started kitbashing the RS-3.

Dave Marconi said:Yeah, I had a hard time narrowing the photos down to the best, and still had 42 of them, which of course is far more than could fit into a single article. So I had to leave it up to Marc H. to winnow it further.

And it’s already a year since I wrote it and shot the pics, so there’s even more stuff to see now.

And we get to see most of the upgrades right here and that’s great!
Whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Got it! For some reason my American neighbour [now moved] had it in HIS mailbox - the house-owner came by this morning to sort the place out for the new occupant and there it was! Bin there at least two weeks, as well.
The article is great, Ray - I’d love to sit in your back yard and watch the trains go by…
