Welcome Don ,

I would like to recommend that you start another thread/post with your invision’s. That way it won’t get lost in Bruce’s thread and we can all follow “your work”.

And if you CAN, higher than 16" would be even better. My “best” switching area is about waist high and I love it.

And, oh yeah, “WELCOME!”

Welcome Don,

I am in Scottsdale and a member of ABTO (Azbigtrainoperator.org). We have about 60 active members with a lot of knowledge about "G scale (gage) trains. I will send you a PM (private message - at the top of the page) with my information so I can tell you about our next meeting and what we do.

You have a great canvas to install a great layout. You also have a great collection of trains. Are you going to use track power or battery. We have members in the Club that are experienced in both. We also have a member that runs a Big Boy and can tell you what radius of track you need for that Locomotive. By coincidence we just had our club module at the Mesa Library for a few days of running trains indoors out of the heat. Again a member ran his Challenger on the module that has a 5 foot radius on the curves for the inside track. You would not believe how far the boiler extended off center on those curves.

Anyway welcome aboard this is a fun site to learn from. It does have it’s ups and downs, you just have to get through the BS, but you will learn something.

Hopping to hear from you.
