I figure they will be out with their version nearly the same time that Märklin’s model makes it to the rail. That would be the only new piece that the “M” Mob is even close to providing the RhB fans. The rest of the so called new items were well on the way before Märklin was bought up by the bankers.


I’m sure Herr Schurer will be grateful, a little “extra help” is a wonderful thing especially if it’s provided to the plagiarists. Are you starting a new Kollektion?

I can think of several things that Märklin has done that EPL didn’t manage. Just think of all the Kollektor’s items they struck from the line! :stuck_out_tongue: :smiley: Must have been some real low cost project, showing good results!

(FERPRESS) Viele Leser der “Financial Times Deutschland” (FTD) haben den Artikel “Der Eisenbahnraub” zwar am Mittwoch, 18. Februar, erschrocken zur Kenntnis genommen, sich aber gleichzeitig über die daraus resultierenden Folgen für Märklin und die verbliebenen Mitarbeiter des Hauses noch kaum Gedanken gemacht. Die Märklin-Mitarbeiter waren bis heute vielleicht sogar noch der Meinung, es könne bei den Nachrichten für sie “kaum noch dicker kommen”.

Jedoch: Es kam noch dicker! Nicht unbedingt in der am späten Donnerstag abend folgenden ARD-Sendung “Monitor”, dafür eher unerwartet etwas früher bei der abendlichen Eröffnung einer gelungenen Märklin-Solidaritätsausstellung im Göppinger Rathaus. Eingeleitet von zurecht noch aufmunternden, lobenden und gemäßigt optimistischen Reden von Göppingens Oberbürgermeister Guido Till und Staatssekretär Dietrich Birk kam es danach gleich knüppeldick vom stellvertretenden Insolvenzverwalter Fritz Zanker aus der Kanzlei Pluta:

Die zwischen 2006 und 2008 festgestellten Gehaltssprünge “könnten auch Schweigegeld gewesen sein”, so Zanker. Man habe bei Märklin “außertariflich ein überdurchschnittliches Lohnniveau vorgefunden”. Die Zuhörer im Rathaus von Göppingen glaubten ihren Ohren nicht zu trauen und einige diskutierten beim anschließenden Plausch an runden Tischchen darüber, wer noch bei diesen Anmerkungen ein “unruhiges Zucken” bei einigen der anwesenden Märklin-Mitarbeiter bemerkt habe.

Es habe sich in den letzten Jahren bei Märklin um ein “Absaugen von Geld” gehandelt: “Noch nie habe ich solche Zahlen einmal bei Insolvenzen vorgefunden”. Zanker weiter: “Was man im Rechnungswesen 20 Jahre getrieben hat, ist mir schleierhaft”.

Dann, quasi ein Ritterschlag für die Redakteure der FTD und deren Informationsquellen:
“Der Bericht der FTD geht in die richtige Richtung”, “noch schlimmer” und “…da kommt noch manches auf”. Das glaubt man in Journalistenkreisen allerdings auch und immer wieder taucht in diesem Zusammenhang, wenn auch nicht an diesem Abend, der Name des früheren Märklin-Prokuristen und jetzigen Mehrfach-Geschäftsführers Karlheinz Menrad auf.

Sicher sei für die Zukunft, “ohne China und Ungarn wird es nicht gehen”. Aber: “Die Firma hat sich in China von Zulieferern - auch noch überhastet - abhängig gemacht” und in Ungarn lagerten (deshalb) zahlreiche “Halbfertigprodukte, nur zu 90 Prozent fertig” … und damit unverkaüflich. “Produkte nachzuproduzieren ist teilweise auch nicht möglich.” Ob der Insolvenzverwalter damit auch die bereits schon in Nürnberg vor der Verlagerung nach Ungarn angeblich sabotierten LGB-Werkzeuge (Formen) meint? Wir werden es noch erfahren.

Dabei ist auch für den Insolvenzverwalter eines klar. Wörtlich: “Wenn Ungarn wegbricht, ist Märklin tot.” Ob deshalb Mr. Hink, der österreichische Chef von Kingsbridge Capital - laut FTD - das ungarische Werk in Györ will? Herr Menrad wird’s wissen.

“Es wird nicht einfach sein ohne Produktion.” Sicher auch nicht für den deutschen Handel, der laut Zanker rund 60 % seines Umsatzes mit Märklin/Trix-Produkten macht.
“Und ein Investor will in 6 bis 7 Jahren einen Rückfluß des Kaufpreises sehen”.
Kaufpreis: “30 - 35 Millionen Fertigware plus viel Halbfertigware plus Marke”. Da kommt so einiges zusammen, was man sich erhofft.

Vergessen zu sagen hat Fritz Zanker dabei aber auch “ohne das Stammwerk in Göppingen”. Denn das soll verkauft werden: “Schwierig: Die Häuserfront ist denkmalgeschützt und auf dem Grundstück lagern Altlasten”. Und ergänzt lächelnd: “Aber ich habe noch jedes Grundstück verkauft”.

Wie’s evt. weiter geht ab April - nach der Insolvenzeröffnung - in Göppingen: Auf alle Fälle “Gehaltskürzungen wird es geben” und “die Stundenzahl wird sich von 35 auf 40 Stunden erhöhen”. Er läßt auch am Ende seiner aufschlußreichen Rede keine Zweifel daran, wie er die Lage einschätzt:

.
Da mußte selbst Oberbürgermeister Guido Till gestehen: “Herr Zanker hat die FTD bestätigt und nicht dementiert, wie wir hofften.” Er dankte “für die offenen Worte” und schloß sich dem Aufruf an, daß die “Restrukturierung nun auch von den Mitarbeitern mitgetragen werden muß”. Wir können’s im Interesse der ganzen Modellbahnbranche alle nur hoffen.

Your friend must know me well. :lol: :lol: Let me put it this way: Translating the never ending LGB Saga was enough for me, even that started out with the juxta-position of the two versions (German and English) of the press releases regarding the insolvency that EPL and LGBoA issued. And the response to that led to the rest. Keeping them “honest” (not sure if that isn’t an oxymoron in the context!) by doing the translating sure got the Ventilators into high gear, especially since I posted both the original and the translation. You could call that a “pre-emptive strike”; basically the same strategy as the dimensional reviews that the Ventilators get so steamed about. :lol: :lol:

OTOH you just never know what comes next, sooooo keep your eyes peeled!

Bob,
I am already in the real World.
Even if other manufacturers had to change from 27 Mhz because they could not get their systems to work on 27 Mhz, the RCS system works just fine on 27 Mhz.

It is a disc, carried on the backs of three (or is that four?) elephants that stand on the back of a giant turtle, which swims from one end of the universe to the other on a never-ending quest to find sensible life.
Incidentally, the elephants’ butts have nothing to do with the gauge of railroads in Wash-Morpork.

First off; it is great to see you alive and taking nourishment, of the type that only this forum can extend to a fertile mind !!

As to this talk of the flat earth, and the elephants, to say also a bit about the giant turtle…
A fine fellow; Deryck, the Archie Bishop of Winchester, of the Branchrailroadian Fellowship, and I, a lowly friar; know first hand that there are 6 elephants, from personal experience.
He and I have been sharing the duties of “Mucking out” these fine beasts, every day for a number of years, and feeding their other end with good Ottawa Valley hay.
The giant turtle disposes of it’s waste in the waters of the great sea, so this lightens our load.

The Earth is quite flat, but does have a small curviture just around Bermuda.

I hope this small note brings relief to those that worry about these matters.
