I’ve used them a few times, mainly when they had something I really needed and couldn’t get anywhere else. They tend to be VERY SLOOOOWWWW. I avoid them whenever possible.

Follow up on Internet Trains in California. It is now 12 weeks and no word from store since I paid the remainder of the shipping cost in mid-January. When checking the status of my order it states on January 13th that the five decal sets ordered have been allocated to me (I assume this to mean ‘instock’).

Several emails sent requesting further update on order, but to no avail (no response!). PayPal will be no assistance as no claims will be pursued after 45 days has elapsed. They will however, accept a ‘claim’ after 45 days (no refund), but only to compile statistics on sellers who may be abusing the PayPal payment system. I have basically, given up any hope of receiving this order and as there is no chance of a refund from PayPal and unable to contact the store, I believe that I have lost the money ($99.50, initial order plus an additional shipping cost difference).

If unsure that an item is instock, in the quantities requested, then I ceretainly will no longer use PayPal as a payment system. If the item has to be backordered and the store does not inform of the fact, then the 45 days time limit on PayPal claims will expire long before goods may be received instore by the seller. Trust is the operative word when making a PayPal payment. Even if a credit card had been used, then the seller would have debited the card at the time the order was made and I would also be in the same predicament - payment made and no goods received!

I get decals from Stan, and nothing has been slow… Order decals on Thursday, and have them in Monday’s mail… Nothing but the best of service from Stan…

I find it hard to beleive this store can have such a hard time shipping things when the world air frieght service is so efficient, I ordered a pair of paper kits online from Germany, never talked to a living person, used Payup-Pal, got them a week later via DHL. Sorry you’re getting the short end of the stick over something that should by all means have gone out the next day in a standard overnight envelope. Sadly though stories like this are becoming more common even for domestic orders.

Is this them?

Perhaps someone close to them might drop by on Tim’s behalf.

John,
yes, that is the store in question.

Tim, I would get in touch with the California Better Business Bureau and file a complaint. Nothing gets a business’ attention quicker than a complaint that is broadcast far and wide!
