That really looks like it belongs there. Are you going to add a couple old, bearded miners sitting on a bench?
I sure like the galvanized spray. I’ve been using it since you first told me about it.

Ray, Very well done…tank looks real neat.
The sun is finally starting to reach the area where I placed the cabin, so here are a few pics with most of the plants and junk installed. Still have a few little things I want to add later:

Enjoy!
That really looks right at home. What great work.
I need to learn to “grow” cactus!
Ray,
Your modeling just amazes me. As I start to build my buildings I will be a frequent visitor to your site to use as inspiration.
Btw, how is your wife. I have had her in my prayers and I hope she is doing fine.
Amazing Ray. Where do you get the metal oil cans from?
Great stuff!!!
I wish I had 1/3 of your talent.
Great build Ray.
Very nice. The plantings look great.
WOW!! GR’s photos don’t do your layout justice… Next time I’m in SD I have to see if I could take a peek of the real thing.
Shawn said:I started with a couple "G scale" steel drums that I bought on ebay a while back. These are open on one end, with nice molded detail on the other end. But the sides were overly thick. Also, I wanted to be able to crumple some of them to look battered and/or decayed. So I used them to make my own two-piece silicone mold, then cast a bunch of them in urethane resin.
Amazing Ray. Where do you get the metal oil cans from?
I cast some that were solid to represent unopened drums, and some using the other half of the mold to form a hollow opening. Then I used the Dremel with a cylindrical sander attachment to grind out the interior and reduce the wall thickness. I heated them in boiling water to soften them, making it easier to add dents and deformations.

Very cool Ray. Looks great! I can’t believe this is a permanent outdoor installation.
Praying for your wife and you up here too, Ray.
Thanks John
They look great Ray!
