I hate being behind.

We are a bunch of grown men that play with toy trans, and sometimes even argue about the right way to play with toy trains.

This should be a bumper sticker and a t-shirt. Then my friends might understand me.

“Nope” will not help to explain to any one, why we play with trains.

Sean, I do what I enjoy. If no one understands that, it really doesn’t matter to me, personally.

But in here, most of Yunz understand that most of us in here enjoy playing with/ tinkering with/detailing, or building toy trains and toy train related objects…Ok, “model trains” if you find that less offensive. The folks in the outside world who don’t understand what we do, or worse, make fun of us because of what we do, they can just go pee up a rope for all I care. I am having fun, and that is what counts to me. (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Well said David! My hobby is my hobby, and it brings me joy, and frustration, and costs lots of spare money, and not spare money, just like golf, boating, and other hobbies.

Bringing this thread back on track, the dime sized burn is now mostly healed, and the 50 cent sized burn is now just over dime sized. Think 15 cent size. (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)Still stings, though.

While on vacation, I decided to scrub out some dead tissue, to promote healing. It worked, but OMG, the pain lasted for 2 days. I need to do it again, but I’m going to see my flight surgeon and beg for some viscous lidocaine. Wet to dry dressings are useless, and prolong the agony over 4 days.

Go for a swim in the ocean … I was going to say go for a long walk on a short pier…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-yell.gif)

I’ll just settle for a medium walk, get the blood moving. (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

Sea ( Salt ) water works wonders . Was my hint…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

The ocean is a long way away. I knew where you were going. I s’pose i could recreate salt water, 1/4 tsp salt to a cup of water is the formula, just increase in proportion.

Come to think of it, that’s a good idear. Thanks, Sean.

If I had know you needed salt water, I could have delivered a gallon or two of free, fresh Puget Sound water when I went to visit my sister in Cheney last weekend. Only slightly contains a few parts per million of opioids…

Or epsom salts even better.

OMG, that was painful!

did it hurt enough, to buy yourself some real boots?

given, that your burns will stay delicate and sensible for a while, cowboyboots with a wide legs should be the best choice.

Or maybe you need to learn to be more careful Steve. I recall a post where you tripped and did a combat roll. You need to remember that you are reaching that age where you don’t bounce like you used to.

Now you are ready to face the world!

So I can get a live coal trapped deep inside the boot? Some friend you are! I was surprised as anyone that I was able to still do that roll, and come up on on my feet, looking for the halfback. You don’t want to take that away from me, do you?

Not take that away. But, someday, someday sooner then later, you may be too brittle to do that without cracking something.

I still bounce pretty good, David. (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Good Lord Steve sounds like you need “laid” on a bed of ties (which should have happened while on vacation) . However now that you are back home go play with your trains and add to the “Summer Thread” !

Both are incredibly healing and better than mediation.

Rooster bets that that locomotive battery lasts longer than Steve

Well Steve, I can’t tease you too much…

A quick job of trimming back blackberry bushes turned into 5 stitches and multiple wasp stings.
