I ran a 55 car freight train, and in 1:29 40’ cars are almost exactly 18" long knuckle to knuckle…
so that train without the 3 e8’s and caboose was over 80 foot long… that was not all my cars and adding in the passenger trains I suppose I have over 100’ of cars…
What is the grade your train is coming down ? Do you have the proper custom metal brackets installed with the body mounted couplers that you recommend(on your web page) and as Ted’s vigente’s suggest which is necessary for conquering such a grade with such a long train?
Rooster, if you keep poking the bear, you will get hurt.

This kind of hit the nail on the head for us to.
Some get hiden and finding more and more once in awhile. Lost count due to not enough fingers and toes. lol.
P.S. Lou L. Good thing it was raining when you and Susan dropped by. You only got to see and run the maint. train that got lost for a bit… You would of had to get a over night motel. Noel & Jane

Not sure who Rooster is but Mr Lassen you answered my question.
Thank you Pete
My query that was off topic has been 50% answered and I greatly appreciate the good positive advice I consistently get from Large Scale Central that all started in a bar around the York area that I was once told by an “old guy” back in the day in the hood .
Lost count? Gee, I keep an Excel spreadsheet on my equipment so I never loose count. Except for that reefer…and those 2 boxcars…and then there was that caboose…and the other boxcar…oh, and those 2 hoppers, and the one 10 wheeler, and…
Never mind.
