I had to call them and get my issue shiped to me out of town. I did not get the last issue and then last week the new issue showed up. Its not going on sale untill March 10th. I was shocked by that. But hats off to them for keeping a customer happy. I was going to not re up my stuff but that has changed now. A little customer service can go a long way with me.
We all know that the Democrats are responsible for the current world crisis, exactly as the Labor Party is responsible in my country for all the woes affecting us. Blaming Carter for starting it all is like our Liberals (your Republicans) blaming an Australian Labor prime minister for affecting change in social reform forty years ago. This lead to the Liberal majority blocking supply in government and the Labor government did not have enough funds to operate and had to call an election, resulting in the proposed social reforms being severely curtailed.
People have such short memories and conveniently dismiss any part their own party may have had. Our Liberal opposition is currently having a field day, in parliament, criticising the government for their fiscal policies and the rising unemployment. Funny how world forces impacting on our economy are superficial and it is only our Labor government’s policies that are causing the economic problems at home. The opposition is also blocking the bailout plan and citing that tax cuts are the only policy that will have an impact on the economy. Are tax cuts not a big strategy of the Republicans? Funny how while in power for eleven years prior to Labor winning the last election, the Liberals resisted any tax cuts and when announced found reason to delay their introduction. How convenient.
I thought that government was ‘for the people’. Those who are still employed and have a little security in life are condemming those who do not and any attempt by a government to assist the situation is met with cries of socialism and communism. I would rather socialism any day, to a fatcat executive government that only lines the pockets of those who already have existing wealth. Money makes money, particularly when your man is in the oval orifice.
I think every politician should serve two terms. One in office, and another in prison.
Cincinatus, where are you. We need you.

The new GR magazine is out? Maybe I could make my RR look like the early chapters of Atlas Shrugged (I just started reading it.).

We need Bob to run the country.
He does a great job with the website now we need him for the country.
We could get Hans to be Sec of State.
So let me be the first Bob for Prez 2012.
Hey David,
I used to read Reader’s Digest (Swiss Edition) as a kid - still remember some of the Cold War propaganda crap, too!
Well, I just learned that in our shop we WILL NOT be getting the $12 stimulus in our checks. It seems that our payroll software is out of date so they can’t use the updated tax tables. I was counting on that so I could start stopping for coffee in the mornings again

I remember practicing by hiding under my desk in school in case of a Cuban or Soviet nuclear missile strike. I lived near a first strike target, a steel mill.
WoW! A $12 stimulus bonus?
The Cap and Trade Bill if passed in the US will easily take that amount back, ten time over.
Taxing businesses for “carbon offsets” will “only tax the rich” according to the Messiah. If a business needs to make a 7% profit margin to stay afloat, and Obama taxes business an additional 2% for “carbon offsets” doesn’t anyone realize business will simply pass that tax on to the consumer, “the working poor”?
What a country?

Well that explains some of your mind set! Did you bang your head when you got out from under there, too? That would explain some of the rest!
You are incorrigible HJ. But you are starting to grow on me.

This continues a strong trend after bookstore sales reached an all-time annual high in 2008 of about 200,000 copies sold.David Hill said:Please, please don't start quoting Ayn Rand!

“Americans are flocking to buy and read ‘Atlas Shrugged’ because there are uncanny similarities between the plot-line of the book and the events of our day” said Yaron Brook, Executive Director at the Ayn Rand Center for Individual Rights. “Americans are rightfully concerned about the economic crisis and government’s increasing intervention and attempts to control the economy. Ayn Rand understood and identified the deeper causes of the crisis we’re facing, and she offered, in ‘Atlas Shrugged,’ a principled and practical solution consistent with American values."
Plus it’s got that great rape scene
I remember reading it when I was 13 and thinking it was really cool
Do you have a source for this alleged “tripling” in sales? I looked it up. the source seems to be the Ayn Rand Institute
Why am I the only one that has to provide sources when I post? JK. It would seem it is the Any Rand Center as mentioned.
I think it’s because you’re the one who makes the most ridiculous claims?

Just as nobody is correct all the time, nobody is wrong all the time. There are many here who do not understand this concept. A closed mind is as useless as a closed book. Ralph
