Happy Thanksgiving

On one disability page there was a member who posted that they were wishing everybody a happy thanksgiving even though they themselves weren’t a spiritual person and didn’t have anything to be thankful for. I wanted to encourage a change of view without negating their feelings, they could be going through really hard times and be really discouraged overall, I don’t know and they didn’t say, so I decided to say I was thankful for some things which do not involve relationships or spirituality -> said that I’m thankful for the internet and the website giving the ability to meet people and interact & that I’m thankful for indoor plumbing and furnaces and air conditioners! Wat I was thinking and didn’t say is that while that might initially seem a bit hyperbolic those inventions do, can, and have, saved lives and generally made life more tolerable for people in general and especially fo those with disabilities.

Happy Thanksgiving!

And then there is the day some people use to celebrate, with Charlie Brown; the arrival of “The Great Pumpkin…”

The Branch Railroadians also have a day of “Thankful Celebration”. The problem there for some, is that they can’t make up their minds, on which day to celebrate, so they celebrate Thankfulness, Sharing, and Fellowship, every day of the year…maybe not such a bad idea if you think about it, with all the hatred in the World these days.

Talking about Charlie Brown brings to mind several years back when I learned there is a generational difference on whether people know it and refer to it by the newspaper comic strip page title Peanuts or by Charlie Brown.

Some people are allergic to “Peanuts”…!!

Happy Turkey day to all my American Friends!

Happy Thanksgiving All!

Be safe down there … all the best to ya all, during your U.S. Thanksgiving celebrations (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
