Somethings never really change. These were hard to be thankful for.
Desert Storm era, I remember them well. We were still being issued this version when Afghanistan kicked off. On Thanksgiving everybody got one minus a few items. The Army cooks had gotten a hold of cases of pumpkin pie filling. They scrounged the crackers, apple sauce and powdered milk from every MRE to make crust and stayed up all night baking fresh pie for 3000 GIs. Easily the worst Thanksgiving meal I ever ate but God bless’em for the effort. Proof that it is the not the quality of life but the quality of the people we meet along the way that matters. LOL ^
I remember C rations well, MRE’s were just coming around when I got out in '84, didn’t care for them, got too use to the C’s.
Wife is making up Cajun Cornish Hens, instead of the usual turkey this evening, with all the usual Thanksgiving goodies, YUM!
Have a SAFE, and FRIENDLY “Thanks for giving” holiday, everyone…

Please be safe while traveling, watch out for the other guy.
Be thankful that at least you know how to drive!(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)
Have a great day!
edit; 'cause everybody is doing it?
You are assuming that I actually do know how to drive. Just because I may drive 400 miles or more a day at work, doesn’t mean that I actually have a clue as to how to do it properly.
