Hoo boy, when “Rocky” (Robert Alguire) sees that he will go nuts!
By the way, there’s another forum where LSC / MLS outcasts are spending all their time saying that this product announcement is BS and Nick is wrong and on and on.
Since those ex-members won’t come here to say the nasty things they are saying, I’ll just comment that this information about the GP60’s is real and I have much more detailed information from Fred Devine, the head of sales for Accucraft, and I’ve been personally involved in helping with the project for some time.
Now this does not guarantee the delivery dates, etc, but it’s been an ongoing project for some time and they WILL be made, to the best of my knowledge.
If Chuck and Ray want to come over here and have a polite discussion, or have actually any constructive comments or questions, I invite them here. I’m really sick of the politics, there’s enough fun stuff to enjoy in this hobby, why go negative just to be negative?
Anyway, sorry for climbing on a soap box, the facts are that AML is dead serious about the GP60, and going to a 3 axle platform afterwards, the much desired SD9.
Regards, Greg
Greg, this is what happens when a third party (Nick) throws out a date (expectation) such as the SD9 announcement for the April Issue of GR,
Most people don’t understand minor delays can change timeframes and setting those dates is generally a bad thing
I hope they do all 3 engines as planned 59/60 and the sd9 however setting dates and timeframes we can do without cause we all know the trouble that leads to by all the “experts”
I believe the best practice with time lines is: “believe it when you see it” i.e. finished product on the shelf, website or whatever the time line refers.
AND have a box of salt on the desk top where your comp display is located. A grain of salt, a pinch of salt or even a tea spoon measure is in order with many of the time line statements posted on the Internet.
Wow Hans and I agree with something, lol
even if Timeline is one word though, but I know english isn’t you mother tongue, so you are forgiven

Well, it gets tricky with assembled words. No problem doing that in German, but with English … half the time it’s a no-no and the other 50% it looks very peculiar.
Which probably is the reason my auto spell checker underlined your Timeline in red, but is quite happy with my two words version.
But on that actual problem with promises from various quarters, I’m happy to wait, but that doesn’t prevent me from commenting on just how full of hot air x, y or z is when it comes to delivering.
My favourite state in the Union: Missouri - show me!
It should be said at this point, that there is no word direct from Accucraft about the SD9 YET atleast not on their website
I stand corrected, there is something on thier website
1:29 Scale - Electro-Motive Division (EMD) SD9, AML, Electric
no clue how I missed such an awesome anouncement, anyone have extra reading glasses?
Well if there is no word Mark why is it shown in the GR mag. Think before speaking. Later RJD
GR page 14
“Tooling is underway on our newest 1:29 scale, 45mm gauge diesel locomotives! (followed by info on the GP60)…Currently in development at AML in 1:29 scale, 45mm gauge is EMD’s SD9…”
Two pictures are shown. One is a part drawing that has been shown on this thread, the other pic is a photo of a SD9 SP prototype.
I’d take a couple of Big Sky blue SD9’s!

Rob, the last thread was deleted and there was a post asking for where the SD=9 info was, nobody answered, you don’t have to be caddy with the answer, i don’t have the mag yet
edit - odd they put it in GR mag before their website though
D&H didn’t have any sd-9’s so i’m shooting for SOO livery then, will look good with the SOO rs-3 i have

In the publishing industry it’s called “lead time”.
Or maybe it’s taking their web designer a while to add the page…
for your information, look close to the bottom of the ““Under developement””, for those that say there’s nothing on the accucraft website:
http://www.accucraft.com/company/ATpress.htm
Look closely, and you’ll see the below 2 lines:
1:29 Scale - Electro-Motive Division (EMD) GP60 & GP60M, AML, Electric
1:29 Scale - Electro-Motive Division (EMD) SD9, AML, Electric
