As newbie I have no idea as to what’s available using these technologies.

Is anyone doing kits?

Daryl

My layout is a switching layout using the Protothrottle as well. With ball bearings in each wheel set so the cars can be kicked.

Craig very cool.

What sort of trucks do you use?

Love the protothrottle. Makes switching so enjoyable.

Check your local library. Many offer 3D printing at very reasonable prices. My local library will print your design for $2.00 pluse the actual cost of materials. Almost makes it unnecessary to buy a printer.

My trucks are a design I found online. Represent 70 ton roller bearing trucks and have a 3mm hole designed for a 3mm x 6mm x 2.1 mm bearing. Otherwise I’ve been drilling out my own holes on the USAT trucks. The few Kadee trucks I have roll really well without a roller bearing.

There are a few like Daniel Peck, Oley Valley and Circus City but I’m am talking about DIY. With an indoor layout you will have less concerns using any 3d print material.

How cool!
