Large Scale Central

Entering a new phase

That’s it, how do you like those modifications I made? I was also practicing my weathering techniques.

…winking…

Please excuse the showing of these pictures, but they were requested by some. The railroad relation to this is that we ride a lot of “Rails to Trails” bike trails and plan to use it for the IPP&WRR Invasion next month. On the road -

Looks good Ric. Andy will like all that space for trains

Thanks for the pictures. It looks great!

yup, it does look nice…

Dave??? the furniture takes up way too much room… Have to remove all that, to get stuff back from york…

Welcome to the world of camping. Been doing it for 30 years and love it. I do take trains with me and set them up when camping. Kids sure love it. Later RJD

Ric,
Really nice rig! I’d honestly love to have a newer van like that! My 1998 Express Conversion van is getting a bit tired.

Chas

Ours has 166,000 miles and seems to still be going strong. It has served us well.

I think I’ll convert my trike for the best of both worlds.

The big adventure and goal of 2010 was to obtain a travel trailer and set up the van for proper towing and comfort during our trip to and from the Invasion. Now going on a week after the event is complete and being home for 4 days, we have to conclude that it all went well. There were stressful periods as to whether or not we would even be able to go to Canada this year and now that is complete. “Goals and objectives” can be a stressful form of existence, but very satisfying when completed. Thanks for listening to my ramblings and the support offered by many. Two train shows in the next 6 weeks and then a trip to Colorado with the travel trailer. Oh yeah, and then there is this work thing.

You can now consider yourself a seasoned RVer. If you haven’t seen the Robin Williams movie RV yet, rent it. It’s a bit silly, but the dump station bit alone is worth the cost of admission

Yes, a friend(?) gave it to us. On Sunday morning, I was trying to unload some of the grey water tank and thought I had all the correct fittings, but I still had to jury rig. Standing in the woods laughing to myself and remembering scenes from that movie as I struggled to make a coupling go over a cut hose. Got it jury rigged and then finally fixed correctly by stopping at a Canadian Tire store on the way home. Those Canadian Tire stores are fairly impressive.

Congrats and welcome to the fraternity. I did send some advice, today, which was obviously too late  Did you end up with the Jayco ?? Bob said he was considering camping in Ottawa too. If you both go, with campers, that may be too much temptation to resist  EDITS - Is this the one ??? Nice.

EDIT again — If this is it, you followed my advice even though you didn’t get it first  Very similar kitchen and aft floor plan to ours. Colors even look close. No slides is good for weight and maintenance issues.

When fall gets here it’s time to come west and run trains. We have 2 1/2 acres and we can set things up so you can plug in! We even have a dump station!

Really! Be careful what you offer.

As a long-time trailer owner I know how handy it is to have a place to park. And now that you are a trailer owner I know you’ll get the urge to travel!

Trailers don’t travel too well over 3000 miles of ocean…
