Don't Forget the Hat and Sunscreen

For many years I have worn a hat outside. I had to see a skin doctor recently for a skin tag and he was thrillled when he saw my hat.
He checked me over and I passed with no problems.
I never use sunscreen but I’m outside year around. I haven’t had any sunburn in about 40 years.
I’m so glad I don’t have to wear long sleeves outside!

Doug, oh yea I have my normal going out hat, it was part of my BDU woodland camo uniform. Working in the yard I wear my woodland camo “Boonie” hat. And when playing trains outside, I wear an engineer’s hat. I once got sunburn on the top of my head. I didn’t realize how many facial muscles pull and tug on my scalp, until I had sunburn up there. I don’t want that experience again.

I don’t put lotion on my arms, they are pretty tan most of the time. My left arm used to be a lot more tan then my right arm, until recently. And I always wear at least a tee shirt outside. While my arms don’t burn, my back does. Probably because its always covered and so its not acclimated to sun light.

Hehe. I have a “farmer’s tan” like the rude kids at school never imagined.
