I know I know you are all just wishing you had one and were as cool as me (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif).
Hmmmm. so now yer Joe Cool, huh? (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
Darn right.
I was lookin’ for that. Awesome. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)
I got to see these at York. Great work. I hope you get a chance to show the rest. I would love to build a train like this. I’ll be busy buying track for a while.
I finally got my cars updated so I have some new pics to show. I was having a hard time finding someone to do dry transfers so Alan from the GAL Line found someone to make them up. So after getting them on I find the cars really pop now. I still have some lines to add to the cars which I will do in future when I see Jeff again to make up the vinyl strips you can see on a normal car in a picture I posted earlier in the thread. Here is how they look now.
I got some video as well sorry it is so bad I was using someone else’s camera and didn’t realize it was set for low rez till after I cleaned everything up.
Beauty Joe!!!
Love those flat car loads…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Thanks Joe and Ken. Hope to make some more soon when the budget allows.
Now you gone and done it. I was bored with this project (just kidding) until the M109’s showed up. You can keep the 120mm pop gun M1A1 and its 3.5 K range. I will take 155mm and 16 miles any day. Of course it cant run from an M1A1 and probably couldn’t hit on the move either.(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
So the M1A1 is a smooth bore. Interesting. I was a M198 gunner and the 155mm barrel is rifled. Of course two very different applications but I figured for accuracy it would be a must, especially how accurate the M1 is.
Back on topic. Nice to see a military modeler in large scale. Are all the vehicles custom made or are you able to purchase them in the right size?
Devon thanks for the praise and for your service. The models were purchased premade, it called forces of valor, they were made in 1:32 scale which is perfect as it is only slightly off from my 1:29 scale stuff. Most of the model kits for normal military stuff are 1:35 scale which would have looked even more off so was happy I was able to find this stuff and they do a pretty good job of detailing it right from the get go. I did have to drill some holes though as all the parts a re fully detailed to allow me to hook chains on.
Artillery lends dignity to what would otherwise be a vulgar brawl.
That’s not artillery Steve that is unleashing hell from a distance. Nothing like firing a explosive VW bug at someone. What impresses me about a full broadside from the Missouri was the side slippage in the water.
Devon, if you like that are WWII arty check out the games World of Tanks or World of Warships from Wargamming.
Thanks for the suggestion but I am not a gamer. I saw a friends Worlds of Warships game and it did look cool but just not into it. My kid is always trying to get me into this or that game. I play one Forza Motorsports about twice a year for about two hours.
I do missing playing with the real thing though. There really is nothing quite as pretty as white phosphorus at night.

I really enjoy playing Memoir '44 by Days of Wonder (board game). Lots of expansion packs, interesting enough that my wife will play with me. Now back to your regularly scheduled programing!
When I worked for BuNSniF, we used to get military trains in and out of Fort Lewis, WA. Impressive seeing a string of 100+ cars with a variety of military equipment.

A broadside of those nine 16 inch guns will shove an Iowa Class battleship sideways 9 or 10 feet. Those ships displace 45,000 tons of water. That’s a lot of “Bang.”
Joe - the flat cars came out great - My only problem is how lax your RR security is.
This hippie chick got by your best.
of course with security in the tower like this
and your maintenance crews otherwise occupied
its no wonder we are all worried about your RR moving tanks, then again you probably won the job as low bidder…
Cute Scott but you have to remember while I am the carrier you need to remember that when these incidents occurred it was when the train was running on the Kevin and Steve right of way so really it was their lax security. Luckily the perpetrator was caught though no record of her can be found now so I assume who ever it was is in Guantanamo now.
