Yep, I let the speed table problem thread “die” on the Yahoo group, there was no fix, nor fix coming apparently. Several people said they never saw the problem, and “defended” TCS like true believers, but they later admitted that they did not use custom speed tables.
I match speeds of my DCC locos, so I can smoothly consist anything. I also calibrate them to run scale speed that matches the DCC speed step. You dial in 37 on the throttle, it’s running a scale 37 mph.
Very few people go to this extreme, but I store the settings in JMRI and do it once.
I likewise am using smart phones for guests and at shows, have 4 old iPhones to use with JMRI and a couple of small tablets. For serious running though, the NCE “hammerhead” throttle is much easier to use.
