Crown Willamette Paper Co. #3 tower skidder-build log

young enough, yes (though I don’t feel it lol) But i’m never home to work on it, and it doesnt travel well haha

Just bumping back to the top after another long hiatus, more progress to report soon, once I learn how to post pictures again

Long hiatus?

He he he yep, but some progress made once again, at this rate may get it done by the time I retire hahaha will you be in Carlyle next weekend Ric?

Aaron,

Is this a for real progress update or are you just teasing us (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Seriously, I’m happy that you have found time to continue this great build project, looking forward to the installments of your build!!!

Rick

How long you home for this time, Aaron?

I have a niece mentoring young girls in Ecuador, teaching them soccer. She just signed up for 2 more years.

Morning Aaron - 2 years ago, we came north for the Carlyle Meet. It was the worst week of the Winter as far as the temps and weather. We have decided to stay south in the month of February, ever since. Just doing our part for a successful gathering. Sorry to hear that Ric, but sure can’t blame you either lol. Yep, took a big step back with building a new frame, but coming back now with some progress  Ken, back for good now, but moving your way to start a new job in Lancaster the end of this month or early March

Well good, Aaron, glad to hear that. I guess that means you can make it to the Ops session in April. And if you need a place to run your trains you will always be welcome here.

If you need any help with the move let me know.

Aaron,

Fantastic area to live. You’ll enjoy the railroad history of Pennsylvania and you’ll be close enough to Ken to get in some real modeling and operations. Good luck on the new job and all of life!

Thanks guys, looking forward to it! the railroad history already fascinates me, and my girl is already planning out places to take me like strasburg and such (think shes a keeper) lol Sounds great Ken, and since I’ll be working at a private school monday-friday, i should be able to with no trouble at all

It’s ALIVE…

Congrats, Aaron on the job…

Aaron got a job?

I know right? People will hire just anyone these days (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)

trying my first picture sharing from my lsc freight shed, so here goes. first off in this update, I scrapped a Bachmann donkey to use as the loading donkey out front. I removed the boiler and am building an operating platform. the steam would have been plumbed all the way from the main boiler out back.

and for a splash of color. since I tore it back this far figured it would be easier to paint as I go, so I decided on a satin hunter green for the frame, and the rear tower section in flat black. more to come shortly

Thats purdy wench.

Things are happening and the gears are turning. The stars must have aligned.
