Looks like I can use these…

Joe, here’s a drawing of the underbody:
I can get you some pictures of the piping on the ends if you still need them.
Thanks Burl. That looks good for the brake rigging.
I think I understand where the brake air lines go now using the real pics too.
I think there’s some type of bracket or shelf where the car end’s air hoses hang off the side of the coupler box. I believe each line goes to the bottom holes on the valve body. The top holes appear to go to the reservoir. There’s a middle hole on the valve body that appears to be a very short line that maybe for bleeding off the air?
Looks like I forgot where the air line goes to the main brake cylinder!
It’s been here forever. Of course now that I need it, I can’t find it!
Yep, isn’t that always the way. That’s why I have duplicates and surpluses of so many things. When I can’t find something after searching everyplace it should be, I go buy more. Then, quite often, the stuff I previously had just appears.
It’s probably funny to read, but it sure is frustrating not to be able to find it. I waste more time looking for stuff than building.
I found this:

Joe I think that diagram should get you where you need to be. If not I have a diagram out of an HO kit that I can scan for you. But honestly its going to be about what you have there.
Are all the brake plumbing components supplied in Burl’s kit, or are these after market? I eventually down the road want to make some 50’s era log flats with open framing where the plumbing can all be seen and should be modeled and will be needing to either cast my own or buy it. I know Ozark has some, are their others?
Devon
I believe so far, that the screws and piping needed, are not supplied.
There is a jig included for bending the end railings. The top platform railings are included.
Here’s some of the brake rigging installed
Sylvan also makes brake detail in large scale, or they did. I saw the kit advertised on Internettrains.com
edit: this kit comes with all the components and is a fun to build kit. I have a fair amount of skills working with different materials and this kit allows me to use them. I wish I could decorate this for Occi Chem or other cars that my family worked for. I will use the included decals because they are there and fit the bill. I only wish I had a full train of these cars now.
My kits come with all the AB components, minus the wire you have to supply for the piping. If you are missing something, let me know & I’ll send a replacement.
Sorry Burl, I should have posted that above. The kit is great so far. It is fun to build and I think it is working out well.
Glad you’re enjoying it. Looking forward to seeing you finish it.
It is a shame that most will never see the fine detail work you did. The gear teeth in the brake wheel housing, the bolt detail on the bottom of the pop off valve, etc.
Here she is a little closer to being ready for paint…
Burl, #12 in the instruction’s parts list says routing cars/ AIE tags. I see that the small (mag?) strip things go under the placards on the sides. I don’t know what the other tiny parts are or where they go? #15 placards have 2 small bars also that I don’t know what they’re for?
This picture should help you see where the defect cards go. You will have two extras (not pictured in the illustration below) because the castings are made from a mold with different styles. Maybe I should have left them out, but I figured they might be helpful for someone that chose to model a slightly different prototype.
Thanks! I just didn’t see them or even know what they were. Oh well she’s already in primer. Looks so good in grey that I wish it was gloss.
I shot her in black now.

You must not have remembered the brake parts I brought to the RPM meet… They were resin copies of Burls shapeway designs…
