Cordless Renovations, LLC Acquires RCS

See what I mean Tim?

Not to refer to anyone in particular, but, some people get so excited when they think they have got the deal of a lifetime, they don’t bother to check the details before trying to tell the whole World of their “Win”.

I had nothing too do with it!
Turn to the dark side of track power and those that run on C.B. frequency! We have cupcakes not cookies and they are free! ( decorations are available for an additional cost)

Hey Tony, there’s nothing new about that. Getting a dollar for every instance when someone misses “a detail” would make a really nice mountain of cash.
OTOH when it gets dressed up as a quasi official press release it would be nice to get the elementary ducks in a row.

Well, Well now… Looks like two against one here. A bit of internal strife? Now that LGB is gone it’s time to beat up on each other?

I prefer daylight, preferably sunny. lol

I use the 27Mhz. frequency quite successfully and as CB has more or less fallen out of widespread use over here (except maybe by truckers) I have no issues from CB users transmissions. I am reminded of the choice of radio or television. TV is hailed as preferable but those who never listen to the ‘old fashioned steam radio’ (excluding those who only listen to ‘muzak’) should do so. On the UK there are some good radio stations worth tuning in to.

Tim,

For everyone that has purchased the 27mhz (CB band width) frequency line of the Elite Series, we will continue to manufacture and support that model for as long as our customer base requires it, whether that’s 2 months or 10 years. Then in the next 18 months my intent is to offer an additional line of products in a higher frequency range, and continue to support and manufacture the current Elite Series. But, in no way will I discontinue a product line every five years due to technology. What that means is, I’m looking into a merger board that will be able to support both frequencies at the same time…it may work, then again it may not. But, my goal here is to offer you and the existing RCS customers that have formed a relationship with Dave Goodson and Don Sweet over the years, more options. Currently we have designed a PNP sandwich board that will disipate heat from your decoder so you can pull more amps, we have tested a Revolution decoder up to a 12amp stall speed, and then it blew. But, these are the kind of options I would like to offer to our customers.

I hope this answered your question,

The LMD18200T H bridge motor driver used in the ELITE series will give a maximum of 3 amps no matter much heat sinking is applied. It is self protecting for over temp, overload and dead short across the outputs.
That is part of the reason why I have only ever had three failures in the many thousands sold since I started using them.
The only thing that kills them is shorting out the legs on a metal surface.

The only way you can get more amps is to gang multiple H Bridges together in parallel. That gets expensive

My 2c, some may want change.

To my experience, Tony and ToC have ALWAYS proved themselves straight shooters… occasionally abrasive and cantankerous, but you know that they’ll back it up 110% when they say something.

So why is it that the new owner seems to be dancing the two step to a waltz here? If nothing else, Mr’ Islard, in the last couple days you’ve managed to make people question your attention to detail, if not your veracity. The first is NEVER a good thing for a small business, the second is often fatal.

Oh, hi there Marvin, some things never change, eh? Like you still not getting the hang of linking pictures without screwing up, eh!? Oh BTW, LGB ® very recently updated their delivery schedule with the good news of the RhB flatcar being “just around the corner”. How about that!!

Marklin has updated their delivery schedule (which isn’t exactly on time as of late), LGB no longer exists as a company. It is merely a label owned by company that is currently insolvent.

So glad to see that we can now put you into the so called “ventilator” camp.

Hmmmmm, in all these years i.e. 2006 through 2010 you still haven’t learned the essentials.

a) the chances of me joining the “Ventilators” are less than zilch (exponentially so!)

b) the differences between being insolvent and remaining in receivership are considerable.

Something to do with paying attention to details, which BTW, has been mentioned in this thread and seems to be lacking in certain quarters.

VERY interesting…

Hello everyone,

Our sandwich board is working perfectly at 12amps without an H bridge and tomorrow at Marty’s I will be running three CNW GP-40’s with our C-10L Carrier Board (each loco plus the C-10 operating with 4 - 5W @ 8ohm speakers from one QSI Magnum) pulling 15 CNW Box-cars and caboose with one QSI Magnum decorder and later with a NW2 Cow & Calf and one Aristo Revolution decorder. If you happen to be at Marty’s stop by our booth and say hello.

Gentlemen, please note that the TOC has not make a comment! I find that quite interesting! paul

And when you try to go to RCS on his home page you get nothing, hmmmm.

TOC is away for a “few” days.

I too await his return to see if he can shed some light on what exactly transpired here.

Don Sweet was surprised to learn one of his installers, Bob Buck, has been appointed the “East Coast distributor and installor (sic) for RCS/Cordless Renovations LLC”.
Especially as Cordless Renovations LLC does not own RCS.

It is getting curiouser and curiouser.

Tony
I have bought many Elite systems from TOC with great success with system. But now I am left wondering what is in store for the future. I went over to Cordless site and his statement states “sale”. You say it wasn’t sold and he says it was . No one should blame you for selling your bus . after all it is yours. I know you realize how a twisted story leaves loyal followers wondering , “what about me?” Not to mention the apprehension it creates for potential new customers deciding on which system to invest in. Seems to me some of the details have not been worked out, if in fact Don Sweet was taken off guard. I also would think Mr. Izard would recognize the lack of ammusement in using the name. I hope TOC will shead some light for us when he returns from vacation.

Hello Todd.

I too am anxiously awaiting the return of TOC to shed some light on the matter.

What I can tell you is I did not sell the use of the name Remote Control Systems, or the abbreviated initials RCS, to anyone.
The deal I made was with Dave Goodson expressly so that the existing range of Elsema based R/C “ELITE” series equipment would remain available to all mine, and Dave & Don’s, existing customers. Plus any new customers Dave and Don could sell to.
The negotiations were entered into in good faith by me.
I had no knowledge of who the actual four members of the "group were that Dave was acting on behalf of, other than Dave himself.
I also had no knowledge that the part of the business acquired by the “Group” was to be immediately on sold to a third party.

Yes a deal was done for part of the old range. Definitely not the name. The name was offered to the “group” who declined to purchase it.
It seems Mr Isard just does not understand that what he bought from the “Group” was part of the old range and not the use of name.

I take a dim view of his actions so far.
He says one thing and then does the opposite by immediately reneging on a written agreement.
Most unethical in my opinion.

Let’s see if I can shed a little light on this subject… but this forum is not the place to be airing this disagreement, well here we go…

First, I didn’t sell a portion of my business to four “un-none train enthusaists”, Tony did. Second, I would never sell anything to anyone that I didn’t know, without their names, address, phone number, etc… (aka credit card) Tony did. Third, Tony signed and had notorized an agreement to sell the rights to sell, manufacture, and distribute the Elite Series of the RCS product line in North America to four train enthusaists or better known as “The Group”. Fourth, 'the Group" approached me to manufacture (after the deal was signed) (which we already do) the Elite Series of the RCS product line. Fifth, after they found out what the manufacturing costs would be for 200 - 300 boards at one time and what the cost of importing the Elsema hand controllers would be, they decided they could not cover that cost and wanted to know if I would be interested in purchasing the agreement.

I’m sorry, this is a no brainer…for the price and what I can add to the product line, I signed an ammendment to the original agreement (with “The Group” from their lawyer) to take over the rights and manufacture the Elite Series of the RCS product line for Don Sweet and Dave Goodson.

Now, Tony is extremely pissed off because he had no knowledge or would ever consider that “The Group” would ever resell those rights to a third party. I completely understand and would be extremely pissed off! But as I stated in an email to Tony that I will honor that agreement as written and signed by Tony and his notory.

But, as I stated on MLS.com

At this time I would like to remind you (Tony) to re-read the “Non-Compete” (directly or in-directly) and “Gage Order” clauses that you signed and had notrized. I would also like to inform you that the laws here in the US with “Non-Compete” agreements are extremely strict, and they will enforce that agreement with you of any products you sell, distribute, or manufacture here in the US that competes with Cordless Renovations, LLC in North America.

I didn’t write it, but I will enforce it!
